Complaint Review: United Propane

United Propane Over charging and cancelled an auto delivery and they delivered one week after the cancellation. Now trying to collect and threatening legal suit. Easton, Maryland

On March 8, 2011 I spoke with a United Propane representative in Easton MD to cancel our auto delivery due to financial struggles.  I have a phone record to support and I was on the phone with them for 21 minutes on that day. I was assured by United Propane that they would cancel the auto delivery and place me on Will Call on that day with the understanding I would contact them if the tank was at 30%.  On March 16, 2011, United Propane came to my house and filled by tank without notification. I received a bill from them for the unauthorized refill at a rate of $4.20/gal for that time period.  $1.00/gal over the competitors.  Our tank was 40% when they delivered on March 16th.  United Propane filled to 80% and we are at 70% as of this date.  We have been harassed by Gene Edwards of United Propane to pay the bill or suffer a legal suit.

We have signed with another supplier and have new tanks installed.  We have asked United Propane to remove the propane filled unauthorized and the tank which is underground and installed over 25 years ago. We purchased the home in 2006 and have been a victim of their unethical business practices since.

I hope you can help resolve this situation to our benefit.  We refuse to be stronghold or victim to their practices.
