Complaint Review: United Property Associates

United Property Associates - These guys are just milking money out of people and not doing their jobs.  Anyone reading this article take notice - don't ever purchase a home that was built by the Sandler Brothers or Chesapeake Homes.  We have lived at Cornerstone Townhome Condos in Va Beach for 5 years - and have been under the piss-poor management of the UPA.  These people are total clowns - they have no idea how to manage a property.  We moved here and was told that a pool and clubhouse would be built within a year - here we are 5 years later and NOTHING!  All the UPA does is take our money every month, to pay for nothing but crappy landscape service.  We are "supposed" to get our homes pressure washed annually - 5 years of living here - only been done one time.  And even then it was was a half - a**ed job. 

The homes looked worse than BEFORE the homes were cleaned.  We have cardboard street signs, on cheap pieces of wood not even in the ground properly - some of them so worn and torn up that you can't even make out the street name.  No street lights - vandals always causing a mess, and residents living in fear.  And when we complain to the UPA, they just blow us off.  Every year at our annual meeting - it's the same thing every year.  They have some blond ditz there every year who tells us that they will take care of it, and then nothing.......we go a whole year until the next meeting where the same woman states that she "doesn't recall talking about that", and then she gives us the runaround for another year.  We were supposed to get fountains installed for our two ponds in the neighborhood, in order to help keep the mosquito problem from getting out of hand - STILL HASN'T HAPPENED.  When we brought up at the meeting last year about getting some sort of security lights installed - they told us they would take care of it. 

TWO MONTHS later we get a letter in the mail stating that they will install "motion sensor" lights on the units - on the homes at each end, but that WE have to foot the bill for the electricity!!  So only the residents who live on the end units have to get screwed and foot the bill because the stupid UPA wants to pocket our money and drive those expensive cars that you always see in the parking lot at their office.  And now they sold off part of the undeveloped land that was SUPPOSED to be for our pool and clubhouse to a developer who is building apartments behind our development.  Still no word on a pool or a clubhouse yet (and we know there never will be), and they aren't doing anything to help with the development in the hopes of new homes being built. And the UPA isn't even maintaining the construction workers!...They drive through our development with their big trucks and equipment, and even fly a d**n helicopter over our homes and land it right in the back on the Cornerstone property.  If you try to call and complain to the UPA - good luck with that.  You will never get anyone......their message says she will call you back in "one business day".....NOT!!  It is normally 5 or 6 days, if you are lucky.  More than likely they are out partying on our dime......worthless pricks.  Now the apartment builders have put up a huge sign right in front of our development sign so that people can't even see the sign for Cornerstone showing that we have homes here for sale. 

Bottom line - UPA is nothing more than a bunch of money hungry, blood sucking losers.  They don't care about anyone but themselves, and about anything except how to scam more money out of the residents.  We now own a $260,000 craphole - thanks to the UPA, our investment is nothing but a waste.  Anyone looking for a home - stay away from Cornerstone in Va Beach - it's a total ripoff.  The UPA will rob you blind - and you will watch your investment go down the tubes.  They even screwed us on our cable provider - every home here has to have the Cox bundle - and every year the bill keeps going up and up.....and the service SUCKS!!!  Basic channels......lame internet, lame telephone service.....always having to call Cox for service problems.  And the Sandler Brothers and the UPA are continuing to get our hard earned money while we live in a slum.  T - total scam artists.   Anyone looking for a new home - don't buy at Cornerstone - the UPA and Cox cable will bleed you dry.  It's the absolute worst investment you could make.
