United Quality Publication, Inc I fell for it when he said he was an Iraq war vet (2 tours) Pensacola, Florida
This young man (said he was David Bennett with the Buckeye 528 group), talked very fast and said he was competing to sell magazines to win a contest that was also helping him improve his public speaking skills.
He said all the stuff about the points and winning a trip to Spain, etc. He wanted me to give him cash or go with him to an ATM to get money out or give him my atm card #, etc.
I told him all I had was a check (which I did give him), because when he said he had served two tours in Iraq and before he went over there he couldn't talk with anyone, so he was working to improve his public speaking skills - I confess, I didn't think someone would stoop so low as to claim to be a military vet to work a scam.
It finally occurred to me to check the company out on line, saw this and knew I should have stopped when he wanted me to go to an atm - that's when I knew something wasn't right, but I talked myself out of it.
