Was contacted by phone by someone from the Government Grant Dept in Washington DC. Caller ID did say call was from Washington. They said I was selected to receive a grant from the government in the amount of $7852.95 and my claim number was PA488. I was receiving this money because I was selected along with other people because I am a good citizen and pay my taxes and don't have a criminal record. I was given an 800 number to call and speak with my account manager. They asked a lot of questions for my file, age, marital status, dependants. When the account manager got on the phone he verified some information and asked me how I wanted my money. Either by 1.adding to my bank account, 2. adding to a plastic card, or 3. getting cash through a moneygram. I chose number 3. He said I had to go right down to the store and he would stay on the line with me while I drove there. He then said I would have to register with the Federal Reserve Bank to receive the funds. There is a one time fee of $232.00 to do this and then he would give me the name of the bank manager. He also said the fee was refundable and that my total amount given to me would be $8084.95 which included the $232.00 fee.

Needless to say, I did not go to the moneygram store, nor did I give them the $232.00 fee to receive my grant. It all sounded too good to be true, although I could really use the money. If anyone has gone through this and actually received a grant this way I would be interested to hear so that I too can get a government grant.

I received the same phone call with the same claims number Pa488. As I was on the phone I had stated let me look u the company online. When II did that they directed me to the website I then stated I was going on the BBB to check for scam. Instead I put in the phone number on a reverse number search that's where I got the mother loads. I ask them what was their address. I was told they were in Washington but the phone number is registered to a company in CA. I told them this was a scam and hung up. Now the man has called me back to back telling me yes this is a scam but he Loves me. I am totally weirded out.
