Our local post office is a huge joke, on several occasions they have "lost" our mail both sent to and from us even when we hand delievered the mail inside the post office, they even sent a postal worker out to unlock our locking mailbox for someone who doesnt live here and had no rights to be in our mailbox it was someone we had already told them we would not receive mail etc for they unlocked it for her allowed her to take all the mail and we came home to find the mail she didnt want thrown in front of our door they said yes they did let her in and they wouldnt do it again but that didnt help much when she had already taken off with the mail and they wouldnt even file a complaint because it would make them look bad.

Than we recieved my husbands W2 several months after it had been sent by his job opened (it had perforated edges so it had clearly been deliberately opened not just by mistake) once again I called to complain teh postmaster once again owuld not file a complaint and said if I wanted I could bring it down and they would take a copy of it so if problems ever arose but the way they everything there wasnt alot of point.

They have repeatedly delievered our mail to the wrong addresse, delievered it opened and most of the time wrote on saying they left it at the wrong house, on the wrong street etc.

Than most recently while my husband was with the military I mailed him a insured box, after over a month and numberous trips to the post office to find out why it had not made it there and being told after I had them track it it was lost I filed a claim once again no one would contact us and the man who took our paperwork didnt even know what he was supposed to do.

We called the postmaster after it had been a month than again after two and three and so on to find out why we werent hearing anything we would call and be told she (the postmaster) was out for a week than they would say she was out for two than three we left messages and even went down and talked to another supervisor that was under her while she was supposedly "away" they promised she would look into it that she would call us back but than she wouldnt and we would have to just keep calling.

I told them we would much rather have the box back but most recently they sent a denial saying it was delievered and get this they say it was delievered before even the first time I went down to find out what had happened to it and had them track it and was told it was lost it took them over 5 months to say it had supposedly been delievered all these months ago and they conviently only decided that after we once again called it is supposed to take 15 days for them to make a decsion so why did it take several months?

I know for a fact my husband NEVER received the box and a little piece of paper with them telling me it was delievered doesnt change that, I bought and payed for teh insurance in good faith not to have them deny the payout should something happen, I told them it was there job to see it safely arrived so either they find and return the box or they pay out on the claim. This post office is a first class joke and how they have managed to stay open is confusing although they will not let you go to anyone over the local postmaster I tryed several times when she would not do her job so no wonder she gets away with it.
