If you are a victim of Identity Theft, Now hear this! The Postal Sevice does not require any form of Identification for an Identity Thief to change your address without your permission or knowledge. This gap in the system needs to be changed immediately. Start flooding your Congressmen and state representatives with letters, emails and phone calls to change this to at least three valid pieces of Identification and check with you first before a change is made.

Congress should make it easier for consumers to prosecute and sue those that misuse your name and identity and easier to erase fraudulent credit obtained in your name and hold businesses accountable for loosing or selling your information, since "Fraud Alerts" are generally ignored or by passed.

The other thing that will stop Identitiy theft is a "Credit Freeze", enabling you the consumer to control who can obtain access to your personal credit and private information. It is only used in 5 States and has found to be quite effective in fighting Identity Theft.
