I recently paid for a package to be mailed to me Express $27.65 (overnight) from ALTADENA, CA to NYC, when I was waiting for my package on Saturday and realized it was not coming.

I called the USPS Customer service and they told me that my package has never been scanned in for shipping, as per the tracking info.

After speaking with the shipper, she assured me that the packaged was mailed out at 10am...way before the 4pm deadline required for Express mailing.

I then called the ALTADENA post office to find where my package was, the clerk told me that he spoke to the mailman who covers that area and he accidently placed my express package as priority mail!!

So I paid for $30 for Express mail and I have no idea when i'll receive my package because of a lackadaisical postal employee.

Now my package is somewhere in California and I want my money back.  Let's see how that goes.....

Because if you don't have the package as of right now you are trusting the word of the "Shipper".  That includes that they said that they mailed out at a certain time and that it was sent out Express.

The only thing I can tell you is that you are going from a Major city to Major city so it will take 3 days at the longest from when it was mailed.  When you do get it you need to find out exactly when it was shipped and if it was in fact Priority or Express.  If it was Express and the PO messed up you should get reimbursed from them.  But if you track it down and find the Shipper was at fault, then they are the ones you need to deal with.  It could be as simple as the Shipper sends out dozens of packages and just stuck yours in the batch of Priority letters.

The point is if the PO may have messed up, but it would not be the first time a Shipper errors and tries to blame it on the USPS(or Fedex or UPS).
