Recently I was surprised to discover a bogus offer In the November 2010 issue of The American Legion magazine. This issue has an advertisement for an offer to purchase U.S. GOVT GOLD coins at a special price from the United States Rare Coin & Bullion Reserve at a special At-Cost offer. I was however quickly disappointed to find on the very day of delivery of the magazine (October 27, 2010) the SPECIAL price was no longer available. I was told by a supervisor those particular coins were already sold out, he was however very eager to offer me the very same coins for roughly $18.00 more each. The American Legion and other veteran service organizations - the specifically targeted audience for this great deal appear to have never had a chance to take advantage of this offer. It was very disappointing as a veteran to try to take advantage of a one-time good deal / Thanks for your Special Service to Veterans  type offer , complete with  official, patriotic depictions of the U.S. Capitol , citing authorized by congress: public law 99-185 etc with no merit. Nice Job!
