On 12-21-98 my husband and I signed a contract with United Traders Association and paid them $5950.00 to participate in this home based liquidation business. I believed in their concept for about 3 weeks, but then it started dawning on us that it was a scam. Their inventory wasn't worth anything and hardly anyone was interested in it. People either were unfamiliar with the merchandise or informed us the prices weren't that great. For the odd merchant who was interested, the merchandise wasn't even available, and no-one had any information on it. It dawned on me that United Traders just had a warehouse of samples, not complete inventories.

My trainer sent me lists- find your own merchandise- find your own factories. The lists were outdated, and a large percentage of the businesses contacted were no longer there. Even knowing it was a scam I tried for a year to somehow make it work. Yes, there were buyers who would have been only too happy to buy bargains, if they existed, but they didn't. The liquidation business can't be conducted this way. Liquidation is done by experienced people who know what they're doing and who physically travel to factories going out of business, etc. United Traders definitely had the intent to defraud and I'm so glad this is out in the open now. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS ANY CHANCE OF A REFUND!
