We purchased our home from a great group of preachers over at Universal Housing in Johnson City. We also like others were told to make that list and get to them in 30 days. Jackie Cole assured us that if damages accured they would be fixed. It was a nigtmare, a complete nightmare to this day 9 yrs later. Everytime they came to fix the repairs they broke something else. They would say they would bring it back next trip and fix it.

My name was forged on the service order sheets so they thought I was satisfied with my home of: warped creeking floors, windows you can't open for fear of coming loose, front door casing that is out of square, shower unit that is also out of square, trim kit never delivered to home(had to use spare parts), cracks in fireplace rocks, cracks in ceiling, condensation runs down main interior wall when it gets too cold outside, cold air that blows from around the frame of the tubs, warped walls, oakfaced cabinets and half inch sheetrock (that are not), theres nothing like stepping on that hard stuff under the carpet, and when those pipes start leaking.

Georgia came out and assured us of what could be done. They sent Wayne the name forger and some other guys who think women are stupid and fixed some things but they never came with stock that was the right size or color but none ever came back. One day you just give up the fight of that home you saw on the lot. They look like they have been used when they set them up for you. This is just for the sake of keeping someone from repeating my mistake. Ask these people if they have someone who would let you see their house after they have spent some time in it.

I just happened in my disgust of our experience onto this site. I wished it were around then but maybe someone will think twice about going down oakland avenue and buying a doublewide built just as good or better than a house. One last note, this man from Fleetwood told me, Would you pay 100,000 for a house then drive down the interstate at 65 miles an hour? Wished he'd told me before we help pay his house payment. Thanks,

Tina
