Hello
Be aware of these so called "marketing companies"!!!!!
I found one of these scams trough careerbuilding.com and was contacted right away, not even 5 minutes after... I called the number on the email and schedule my interview for the same day (i called at 2 pm an the secretary wanted me to go there at 3pm, WHAT KIND OF COMPANY THAT WANT GOOD EMPLOYEES DO THAT?? ) anyway... i went there and they have 5 other guys in the room waiting for the interview... After a nonsense 5 minutes interview, where they told me that the work with all the major sports company like NFL, NHL and more, i was asked to come back next day for a second interview, but now a hole day interview or as they call "observation day". So i went there all dressed up expecting to see people working with sports and stuff, for my unpleasant surprise the girl told me that we would go out in a "field trip" (by that time i was like "WTF??") but i went... on the way i asked simple sport marketing questions like "what team you guys work with?" or "what strategies are most common in sports marketing?" and they had no idea of the answer, one of them even sad that he never worked with sports and didn't even like sports. So we finally got to these mall where we had to go in each store trying to sell these vacation packages for $50 bucks... We stayed the hole day there, the guy made 3 sales (Amazingly)! In the lunch time (that i was informed that they were gonna pay for) we went to a McDonnald's and the guy with me had the guts to offer us for "free" anything from the DOLLAR MENU! During "lunch" he explained us how the system works in the company (basically just like any sales system, with commissions and team leaders) and he was saying that after a period of 90 days i would be making over 1000 dollars a week. After the lunch we changed the partners and i went to another mall with other girl. She sad she was with the company for almost 9 months now and she needed to work like a maniac to make 500 a week... When we went back to the office i was told to come 3 days after and begin to work (JUST LIKE THAT, NO DRUG TEST, NO BACKGROUND CHECK, NO RESUME CHECK, NOTHING)
Off course i didn't went there and advise everyone...

STAY AWAY FROM 4600 SHERIDAN ST SUITE 300 ON THE WACHOVIA BUILDING... IT A SCAM (UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE A DOOR-TO-DOOR SALE PERSON)

Hello, Thanks for the information on the company matching the address given. I have searched the entire Internet for info on a company by the name of:
Universal, Inc.
Worldwide Advertising for Sports and Entertainment
4651 Sheridan St.
Hollywood, FL 33021
Phone: 954-602-9740
Contact persons: Ashley and Charlotte

I applied for a job posted by them on careerbuilder.com and was contacted the very same day via e-mail to set up an interview. I called them this morning to get more information such as an interview appointment and I was told to come in this very day anytime between 1pm and 7pm...this sounded a bit fishy so asked for more specifics on what the job title is (since the post on careerbuilder was so vague). The woman I spoke to was quite cold and impolite; she told me the positions include marketing, customer service, public relations and managerial jobs...still very vague and mentioned nothing about sales which I was weary about. Still, I was suspicious because I was also told that interviews had been going on all week (how many people did they want to hire??) So low and behold I looked up the address of this place and thank god, someone posted a warning. Be especially aware of the number of names this company goes by....most of them are listed having job openings on careerbuilder.com. Sales companies suck!!!

These people go by various names. I recently found a job posting on monster.com under the company name "STL Concepts" & thought it was pretty cool due to the whole NBA/NFL thing. I applied & got an interview for the following week. (Mind you, I googled them but nothing came up. Just their info & the little google maps link with their address). So I put on a nice suit & show up to this place. Ok looking building inside & out. I climb on the elevator & arrive at their office. I'm walking down the hall & I hear loud music. Then, I open the office door & notice that the music was coming from inside! (If you know people are coming over for an interview, wouldn't you want to give them a good impression of your company? The girls had on really loud rap music!). As soon as I entered, the place looked kind of weird. I mean this tiny office with lots of stains on their carpeted floor. My first impression was just "Ewww. Why would I want to work in a dirty looking place?" There were like 5 people waiting to be interviewed. There were two girls sitting at desks (they were like customer service reps). My appointment was at a specific time & I was called in about 45 minutes later. To start off, the woman was nice, but as she began to ask me questions, each time I would answer she would mock me. Totally rude & unprofessional! It's not like I have an accent that she can make fun of me for. & besides, who would want to work for someone who makes fun of them? Then again it is different if you have known the person for a while & you just joke around with each other. Anyway, after what was like a 3 minute interview, I was told that I would be notified in a few days for another "interview". There, I would be put to work for 4 hours or so to see if I was fit for the position or not. The funny part is, that today I was on monster.com looking for more job openings & I came across this other job ad. It said basically everything that I had seen on the STL Concepts posting, but the company name was now Media Direct. All the way at the bottom of the Media Direct posting, it even says "For jobs in Miami contact ----person", who is the contact person on the STL posting!!! That's when I knew something was fishy & these two companies were definately related. I googled Media Direct & tadaaaa! This website came up! I'm so glad I found this before they called & asked me to go to the second interview! I know I'm definately NOT going back there!!!

Hi, I was recently contacted by this Top Flight Marketing Company and am so greatful for sites like these. I looked it up before the scheduled "interview" I'm supposed to attend tomorrow. I've already attended a pyramid cult-like job orientation for selling mutual funds. I am not sitting through one of those ordeals again. Does anyone have any suggestions for avoiding these in the future? Why does it seem like all the job websites are just littered with illegitimate companies?
