On December 23, 2005 a teenage boy and girl came to my door selling magazine subscriptions. Normally I don't answer the door to strangers but I did this time and what a mistake it was. The boy was talking so fast and trying to convince me to order a subscription so it could help him win a trip to Cancun. It was cold outside and I had company over so I agreed to a subscription to just get the guy to go the hell away. I paid $59 for a two year subscription to a cross stitch magazine. I wrote him a check and he told me in about 6-8 weeks I'd receive my magazine.

I received a my magazine in April alright but it was the wrong one! It was a Caribbean Vacation magazine. Why the hell would I want that? To dream about a place I'll never go to?!? After I ordered the magazine I did try to cancel it because of not knowing what magazine I would be getting I didn't want to get something I might not like. When I asked him which magazine it was he could only tell me a cross stitch magazine, not the exact name of one! Due to the holidays, I couldn't get my cancellation in by their 3 day limit. I was able to contact the Caribbean magazine and tell them I didn't want this and they cancelled it.

I tried contacting USA and got a recording or some complete *&*& to talk to. I explained to them about the situation and they acted like it was my fault. Finally my husband called and spoke to a 'decent' person and he explained the situation. They were going to correct this and extend my subscription from 2 years to 3 and I would receive my first magazine in August.

Well here it is October and I am still waiting! I knew better than order this but at least I am not the only one that has been fooled by this 'company'. I filed a complaint today with the BBB. I've always got great results from them, hopefully they can help me once again. I learned a very valuable lesson. A lesson that cost me $59. From now on, I will not only not answer my door to strangers, I will only buy magazines from a store if then!
