I was contacted on 9-18-2012 by universaltimesharesa saying they had a Canadian buyer for my time share. The buyer offered $185,000 ( about $25,000 more than its worth ). They said they needed $1800 to lock in the offer.

I told them I needed some time to think about it. They called each day after for the next 3 days wanting $1800 to lock in offer before he changes his mind.

I did some research and found out they were trying to scam me.

The names of the sales people that called me were Omar De-La Cruise and Timothy Johnson. Omar called back on 9-21- 2012 wanting me to lock in offer. I told him that I found information that he was trying to scam me. He said he was not and that they settled all complaints against them. I then told him I was not Interrested and hung up on him. I did not get scammed.

Fraud in general and specifically of timeshare are the order of the day. Customers should be cautious and not be fooled by false promises about investment returns, timeshare resales or anything that sounds too good to be true. These are good articles from Mexican Timeshare Solutions on how to get out of a timeshare scam:
