Stay away from University of Phoenix!!
They will rip you off financially and they will withhold your extra student loans while interest is steadily accruing.
The degree is useless because they try to make you believe they have as many accreditation's as a traditional university or college. This is not true! Do not fall for their manipulating ways!
They may be accredited somewhat but the important accreditation's will not be found at the University of Phoenix. I have had to chase after money owed to me and it is getting to be a bit ridiculous.
I filed a complaint with the Department of Education then with the department that handles university complaints 415-486-5677 is the main line to begin the complaint process.
The lady explained to me they are trying to get them to be unaccredited but we need people to take action against them. They get at least 15 calls a day about University of Phoenix.
I advise anyone who has any trouble with University of Phoenix to start a complaint. The more complaints they get, the quicker this so called educational institution will lose its accreditation.
We need everyone's voice to put a stop to University of Phoenix.
Personally, I feel as if there should be a class action lawsuit against them again!

Outside the excessive cost of ALL for profit schools including the University of Phoenix, a bigger problem is that accreditation doesn't mean very much. Ask yourself, how many employers actually look at the school's accreditation. Employers look at the name of the school. In the tech field, nobody asks about schools' accreditation of UC Berkeley, Stanford, MIT, etc.
College is used as an expensive and to a large extent unwarranted aptitude test. An employer sees one with an MIT, Stanford, Berkeley or other top 10 schools believes (most likely accurate) that the graduate went through a competitive admissions process.
University of Phoenix, Devry, ITT Tech, etc. are expensive for profit schools whose students for the most part could not get into a low cost public alternative. The employer reasons that the graduates are the "bottom of the barrel" and not worthy of consideration for employment.
When you have a grim economy with very few jobs, then if I have the choice for a computer science position a graduate of UC Berkeley or ITT Tech then it should be pretty obvious that the UC Berkeley graduate is going to get the job.
