University of Phoenix Axia college/Apollo group ripoff/scam 3157 E. Elwood St, Arizona
I started at UOP online in 2009. I thought it was a great idea. Honestly, the classes were easy but when it came to needing help, the instructers were never available to assist. I didn't have any issues really until I started asking around at local businesses if they accept UOP degrees(which I was told by my academic advisor that the state I live in has never ran into any problems with the degree) Come to find out, out of the 39 businesses I went to, not one of them would accept a UOP degree because they said it was an shady school.
My next issue came with financial aid. I had no issue with the way the money was being disbursed until I noticed that more and more money was coming out of my financial aid then what I was told. I contacted the lender as well as the school and told them that I wanted the loan disbursed to me. The school said no problem but when it came down to the disbursement of my loan, the school took it all.
I left the begining of this year for a legit university in my state. I was smart and requested my transcripts prior to withdrawing. I waited until the end of my two classes before I withdrew, yet somehow the school said I still owed them money. Originally they said I owed 150 to cover class costs(even though I told them i was withdrawing at the end of my classes and I did) then it went up to 1200, then down to 348.
This is the poorest excuse of a school I have ever seen. They are rip off artists. The staff is mediocre at best. Most of them are extremely rude. I am currently trying to figure out what my next move should be in regards to my student loans. I refuse to pay for that schooling. It was a ripoff. I think UOP should be shut down for good! All it is is an over glorified pyramid scam.
