I started UOP in Oct. They never got my financial aid in order. and when they did I was so furious with the teacher that was no good. Within the first 3 weeks I told them I would finish that quarter and transfer to a school nearby which I did. They sent me a refund check which they told me was my pell and told me I could buy a laptop with it which I did. they said they sent my pell money back and now they tell me I owe 5000-6000 to college loan corp and them for 784.00 my quarter only cost 1970.00 I feel I am being screwed big time and I dont know what to do ...They are fixing to turn me over to collections On Monday. I need help.

I am currently a student at Axia University if Phoenix online. I have been going here since about September. I can't complain about much, but I can assure this school was not what I bargained for. My fiance attends school online elsewhere and his schooling process is nothing like mine. He is currently taking 2 classes and has assignments due at the end of the week. I on the other hand, am taking 2 classes and have assignments due almost everyday. the whole purpose for me attending classes online was because they tell you can do it in your own time.

But now here. I constantly find myself stressed out becasue I'm trying to do so many assignments at one time. The current issue tht I am having is that I was told by my financial aid advisor that I would be receiving a refund check in the mail, because I received financial aid. I was told this about 2 months. They told me at the beginning of November that the check had been cut and was going to be sent out the following week. This was about the 12 or 13th of November. At the end of November still no check. I called and I told them that I never received the check that the sent out. They said that they would cancel that one in case someone else got it by mistake, and that another one would be cut for me. they said it took 3 days for the request to go through, and that the check would be sent out that following week.

It is now December 15 and still no check. They keep giving me the run around about maybe it's caught up in the mail and things like that. The thing is- if they sent out the first one, shouldn't it have gotten here by now, even if it is late. I never got the first one and still have failed to receive the second one. Im beginning to wonder if they are lying to me and are not sending them out at all. I need to know if they are lying to me or not. Can someone respond to this that has had a previous experience like this with Axia: University of Phoenix?

Why do you assume everyone that reads these are idiots. If they didn't have your financial aid in order you never would have received your pell grant. You are in debt because you failed or dropped out. Time after time... same story. Let me guess... your still not actively working on your degree? Oh yes... and it's UOP's fault and not in any way yours! PLEASE!

You should be ashamed of yourself... if your so worried about paying your bills... finish what you started, quit making excuses and EARN your degree .....
FYI;writing complete sentences will improve your chances of succeeding at any college If you were passing your classes you wouldn't be going into collections.

You are being deceptive.... the only time you owe the school is when they return the funds to lender. The only time they return your funds to the lender is if you are withdrawing..or failing!

Saying you owe financial aid 3 grand in the title and changing it to 6 grand in the body of this complaint was not very convincing. Make sure your not busting yourself out in a lie. Also, you said UOP returned the funds to College Corp.... if so, then why would you owe College Corp? Get your story right. Let me guess..... They are out to get you too?

Geez, let me spend hours helping you, save you a space in the classroom and in turn you can quit and not owe anything. That is the standard practice at every University!

I have not commented on any complaints concerning Axia for quite awhile.I see that the same complaints are being filed time after time. I have been through all the problems with Axia that I have seen filed in ripoff. The only difference is that I have stopped corresponding with them or trying to get them to understand. They are not going to help anyone. They are a corporation and that spells greed.
Until Americans stop being afraid of collectors and credit reports, these practices will continue until this country is bankrupt. My advice is don't panic, don't starve your family to pay these people.
A credit report means you are in debt. To have a good credit report can mean that most of what is "owned" was bought on credit.
