This is still my first week at UofP/Axia online. I was impressed with the ease of online learning until yesterday afternoon. That's when it hit the fan. And now, I am seriously considering whether to continue past my financial aid for this year.

I was told by my enrollment counselor Marti Chavez, to put off working in Gen105 for the first week. She told me that on my first day of class, Monday, Aug 25th. I questioned her about this, and I had a gut-feeling that this was bad advice. I was irritated because I couldn't understand why I wouldn't need to be working on this class since the courses are only 9 weeks long. She assured me everyone else was doing the same thing: focusing on Com140 and only posting attendance in Gen105. She said the focus would switch the next week.
Wednesday Aug 27th, she called and "guided" me to post attendance for my Gen 105 class. On Thursday, I am told I received a phone call from Ciara Neal, her trainer, but I had erased my messages without checking them, my bad. On Friday, I did receive the phone call, an apology from Marti because she's new, and her trainer Ciara apologized for Marti's mistake. Her mistake was misinforming me about the classes, yes you guessed it, and I was supposed to be turning in homework from the class "I didn't have to worry about except attendance this week."

So I was told that if the instructor wasn't flexible enough to let me turn in late work, I could lose points. First Ciara told me this, and also said that their office has no communication with the instructors. It seems to me that when administration screws up at University of Phoenix/Axia online, nobody wants to be accountable.

So I followed the phone tags, and talked to my Academic counselor De Andra Waddell, who told me they would try to use a liasion between adminstration and instructor to tell him of their screw-up. But when I said there's no way I'll take lost points being set-up for failure like this, she said,"Well, of course you can do that, it's your education," or something to that effect. Wait, it gets better!

I had told Ciara Neal I wanted to speak to her superior about the training failures at University of Phoenix/Axia online. I get a phone call a little while later, from some phony sounding used-car salesman(for legal purposes, just my opinion, this guy's a real a*s-munch.)named Joseph Willford. He pretended not to know anything about the issue. His whole demeanor was patronizing, and manipulative. He asked me out of the blue, "Well, didn't Marti tell you to be sure and read your course syllabus?" She had, and didn't because she said not to worry about Gen105, but I didn't tell him that. I just got pissed, and completely lost it when he added, "Well, what kind of college student doesn't read his course syllabus?," or something to that effect(legal purposes-a*s-munch). Oh, I said, " You f----d-up, your the trainer and manager of these people, you need to be accountable!" He cut me short when he said,"If you use that word again, I'm just going ask for your credit-card number," or words to that effect. So I calmed down, and asked for his supervisor's name and phone number. He blurted out fast, hoping I would'nt get it, and, or be intimidated in asking for it again. I asked him to respell his name and he said,"I alrready gave it to you." What a p***y, in my humble opinion.
I had better luck with his boss Doug Harris, a Marine. I had been a Soldier so we could relate. But I was still told I might have to eat the lost points. That is so wrong for them to say that to a first-week student. I was so hot yesterday, I wanted to quit right then and there. But I won't. Because I will have the last laugh, lost points or not. I will not apply for financial aid for any more than I have, I will use what I have applied for, and go back to Junior College where two classes cost far less than $2,000 plus. What a rip! There is no way to hold them accountable for their mistakes! Try to find Apollo group Board of Directors comments page! Even better, try to find the Dean of Axia's comments page! I tried, they are not accountable, so my accounts will be withdrawn. I am also game to be party in a class-action lawsuit just for punitive damages.
