This is a warning to any unsuspecting individual that is interested in learning anything thru e-online colleges. First of all I enrolled at University of Phoenix-Axia college for some online courses and on my first day of classes I had dificulty just getting into class. At first I thought it was my laptop but it is not. I looked in my class schedule and I was dropped without any explanation.I called my financial counselor and my acadmics counselor and neither returned my calls.
It is very frustrating.

When I attended my orientatation they made it sound so easy and made it sound interesting but believe me it's as far from the truth as you can get. I got more roundarounds that you can imagine.I even took some workshops early. One person said my workshops were like
sort of getting "my feet wet" to get the feel of it. And that they didn't count. Another person said these workshops did not count on your grades but then said
you could be penalized if you didn't do them after registering for them.Seems to me that they really don't care much whether you learn anything as long as they get their money.

Also once you register at the college you can't drop out and get your money back. If you qualified for student loans and they haved received their money, you are screwed, they say "tough luck." I believe that some online colleges ARE legit and do try to help the student
learn whatever it is he or she is interested in learning but these must be real scace,as most businesses in todays market are money hungry and deceptive.
Their bottom line is $$$$$. Everyone should know this.Because there's no such thing as a free anything,we even pay for air and water now, things that 10
years ago were obtainable without any cost.
Not that I would want an education for free ,mind you(at one time this also didn't cost anything or almost anything remember?

But back to my complaint-all I'm stating here is that if you want to learn anything in life you must somehow learn to avoid being taken for a ride in the world of Higher Learning I have a GED and have attended several colleges but that was a long time ago. That is why I am begining to realize that to advance in this world, education is not only a key to the future as far as jobs are concerned but that it really matters very little what you know as much as who you know, to get in the work force. I bet there are more people in the workforce now that got the jobs merely because of who they knew instead of what they knew. Yeah you do have to know aerodynamics to fly a plane(obtained through education)but I bet I could fly the plane by myself with no education whatsoever once I get ahold of the steering wheel once I'm in the clouds.

In other words if I knew John Glenn(astronaut)personaly
and he took me up on a flight in his Piper Cherokee I bet I could fly.I'm not a rocket scientist but it doesn't take an idiot(of which I am surely not)
to figure it out that getting an education on line requires that you know at least how to peck at the keys on your keyboard to work online at anything, aside from the confusion that you might encounter trying to navigate through all the information to get one class done. The aggravation is a killer.I found this out the hard way. Am I innundated with more bite than I can chew? you bettcha.

Am I confused? you d**n right. am I pissed off? Whatta you think???/
And if anyone out there thinks I'm a moron go ahead especially you guys at UoP. but hey? So was Einstein. HE could fly a plane.

Sorry for the ranting and raving fellas but I AM PISSED.

Hi,

I am sorry, but I must point out that you are ranting and have not help your cause at all.

To quote you "Yeah you do have to know aerodynamics to fly a plane(obtained through education)but I bet I could fly the plane by myself with no education whatsoever once I get ahold of the steering wheel once I'm in the clouds."

As a pilot myself, I will bet you would not be able to start the aircraft never mind flying or navigating it. There is no steering wheel in an aircraft. Although; you certainly are in the clouds.

You are not charged for classes you do not take when attending the UoP on-line course. Any money that is not used for class is returned to the loaner. Once the class starts you owe for the class. If you do not pass the class you owe for the class. No student loan provider will pay for a class that is not completed or failed.

Get a hold of yourself and think rationally. What exactly is the problem you are having? As a former student I may have some suggestions. Just look for me under Rick from Ct.

Regards,

Rick from Ct.
