University Of Phoenix/Internet Lied about requirements. Retaliation for action re. problems with required "team" Members. Would not let me quit team. Told me I would get a refund and billed me anyway. Phoenix Arizona Worldwide
I would not really know to encapsulate everything that has happened. It has been a circus.
I knew the reputation of UOP (University of Phoenix)was a diploma mill. Did not know every class was a team environment-or the quality of people on many of the teams. Was recruited in by a salesperson. Told I only had to go to class one night a week. Get password for system and find am expected to do 5-10 projects per week and legally am supposed to be meeting with team 8 hours a week.
Receive half normal federal financial aid. Am not really a regular F/T student. They get the normal amount. Get nearly no credits for amount of work. Teams do nothing -or a few people bully the rest and use connections with administration like whips on some to do everything. Lots of locals with prominat spouses and connections on staff with no quals and no respect for others. Prejudice towards others and jealuosy. At MA level some are iliiterates-literally.
Am expected to do everything for disfunctional teams and groups in all classes. Verbal abuse, threats and recriminations continue. Have unacceptably fringe members of society as instructors. Some actually scare me and I have worked around law enforcement field. SOme tease evangelical students with slides of taro cards and flunk them on non-compliance with UOP policies.
Do not care if people cheat and punish those who tell. Told to fix others' work or locate source or get out if "can't get along with others."
Cross-dresser as instructor.
Also-from them-seems like some kind of prejudice-but can't put finger on what it is.
Some people clearly favored-others flunked out and reprimanded like Harvard on the Hudson mentality.
There is no guarantee of good grades-and can owe fantastic amount of money if leave or dropped. Can mess up credit, financial aid, career options. Can not get back in to school. So haev to stay. Hard to Xfer to other school given messy unique aid situation and fact owe money already beyond aid. Cavalier attitude by all connected that deteriotrates into threats, case-buiding, and retaliation/mis-use of power if complain.
Should be shut down-and probably many other schools-private and not.
