The University of Phoenix's Doctorate Degree in Education was the educational institution I chose to pursue and complete my dream of obtaining my final degree.  Although their Residency program consisted of classes who some students were shown how to complete a Dissertation proposal early on in the first two Residences, I wasn't one of them, but let it go.

Upon failing a class due to being ill on FMLA, and having an instructor that wasn't the best at understanding these types of circumstances, I contacted my Academic Advisor (AA) and albeit late, I sent a copy of an email indicating why I'd like a grade change consideration.  The AA Cody Hoban e-mailed me weeks later asking if I could send the letter because he MISPLACED IT.  Subsequently I paid two more times out of pocket for the class which I failed again.   No problem it's my fault.  However, the AA and the Finanical Aid counslor tells me to pay for an upcoming class before I know if I'm failing again.  So I recently I find out that I failed the course (I got a C+ but for Doc level your grade has to be a B or better.)  I receive an email from the Financial Aid contact, David Hutchinson last week indicating that all of my courses were dropped due to the fact that I didnt pay for this upcoming class. What???All of this happened AFTER I agreed to make a payment plan.

Not to mention David's inability to explain the financial aid process and ensure that my paperwork and financial requests were consistent from my previously submitted financial aid.  Did I mention that as Academic Counselor Cody Hoban is supposed to check in to ensure that all is going well?  Cody contacts me in week 7 for 8-week classes to see if all is going smoothly!

So now I have no classes scheduled, I am considered out of class.  If this is not cleared up, in about sixty days I will be notified that I have to start paying back student loans with no degree. Everytime I ask for an escalation to ensure that what I'm being told is correct, for a Manager to assist me, or to SHOW me where in UoPHX policy there is a written process (I can't find one,) I'm told by the AA that he is the first point of contact. The Financial Aid managers do not follow up and get back to you.  The Doctoral Mentor I chose is non-existent.  She doesn't even contact me to find out if I'm ok.  Needless to say I've invested too much money and time and would like to graduate.  I know its my fault working two jobs and trying to go to school howvever I'm doing my best.  I can't say the same about the school.
