This rip-off report is in response to Cynthia from Johnston, RI. I know exactly what you're referring to. I took the introductory classs, of which I was not informed as being required. The instructor in the class would not respond to any of the email I sent including the one where I asked for help with regards to the homework assignment.

In addition to that, the instructor kept making grammatical, syntactical errors in his postings and after the third week of class, I asked to drop the class and re-take the class with another instructor. I was turned down for that request. In fact, inspite of the fact that the admissions counselor was aware of the situation, she urged me to finish the class for which I responded "...you're trying to sell me a defective product".

After I informed my counselors that I will not pay for re-taking the class, I was considered as having failed the class and now, I'm being charged for half the cost of the class which according to them is quite generous. They should pay me for the miserable experience that has tainted my entire desire to achieve an online degree. The University of Phoenix is a corporate scam disguised as an educational institution. It should be shut down. If any attorney is interested in pursuing a law suit, I have kept all email correspondence to the University of Phoenix.
