I started UOP back in 1997 and finshed there schedule in 2000, however I was always 16 credits short of lower division (general education to fully complete my degree.) Well in May of 2003 my re-entry counselor called me and said I needed to finish my degree and she would re-enroll me in to 5 classes for me to complete my credits needed. Now I have completed all but 1 class just to find out that my re-entry counselor entered me into a class I already took back in 1999 - so UOP& zero out my three credits I have earned for the class I took In 1997.

So now I have to take another class!! I am very upset - since no one notified me of this I just happen to discover it by checking my grades. I have filed appeals and been denied - this was their error and I have to pay for it. I will never recommend this University to anyone !!! They dont have any consideration for the fact I spent 5 weeks of my time and effort and earned those credits. All I get is we are sorry about this.... Im sorry I went to the University of Phoenix

Read the Arizona Republic Article dated September 13, 2004. The Department Of Education filed a class action suit and the UOP Online Campus and Apollo Group had to pay 9 million dollars. The lawsuit (I read it on line) mentions all the practices that Wendy from Calif. talks about. I currently work at the UOP as an enrollment counselor. I have been employed for less than 6 months. It is a sales job, not an enrollment counseling position.

I went there with The idea of helping people to get into school to better their lives, believing I would be good at it. I have discovered UOP cares nothing for the students concerns, they only want more money, more enrollments, more personal financial gain, again not for the benefit the individual student, just the Apollo Group.

If we don't make "qouta" of ten "students" per month, every month, after our 6 month "review" our pay is cut by 3% and possibly higher. So, while they are no longer compensating employees by way of high dollar trips, bonus pay, other goodies (mentioned in the legal documents) there is still alot of high pressure to enroll.
