Look carefully; the nationwide consumer complaints against UOP are primarily due to inept administrative operations and unethical marketing practices rather than discussing the education offered, although the quality of the product is very questionable.
The facts speak for themselves. University of Phoenix has a plethora of complaints listed against it with the Better Business Bureau.

Not for some, but for most

I am an employee of the University of Phoenix Online and also a student. I do feel that the learning experience at UOPHX can sometimes be too simple and sometimes the workload can be very overwhelming.
For the most part though, those who succeed are those who have decided to stop making excuses for themselves and actually look the change their future. For most there are millions of reasons why we could not get our degrees when we were younger.
It is nobody's fault. However, at this point in our lives, most of us know how important an education is. Just to let you know, the University of Phoenix is regionally accredited throught the US Department of Education.
They went through the same produre to become accredidted as that of Harvard, Columbia, NYU, etc. My point is, they are legit and are transferrable.
I do believe that there is about at 2% or less of students at the University of Phoenix that feel the was that most people on this page feel.
Keep in mind that even though there are over a dozen complaints on the webpage, there are over 100,000 students world wide at both our ground and online facilities.
I believe that there are some who are going to succeed no matter what the obstacles, and those who will give up and complain which is what they will continue to do all of their lives.
Yes UOP might be expensive, but how much are you worth?

Actually, I am somewhat stunned to find so many across the nation reporting the same type of bad experience with UOP.
The RIP OFF REPORT search link draws up almost a dozen reports stringing across the continent.

I am sorry to hear that your UOPHX experience was poor. I graduated with an MBA in June, 2000. I have taken a new position with a new employer, and been promoted twice! My paperwork was handled properly as was my student loan. I attended the On-Line Campus.
I agree that the sales people can be pushy.
Good Luck!

Your turn will come to find yourself with a UOP degree that is not respected in the market place and has left you in tremendous debt.
University of Phoenix defines itself by a poor brand image.
You have my sympathy.
Good luck

You Are All Bitter!!!!!

I am a student of the University and I find it to be a good school, that if you work hard you will learn alot. If you are looking for something to fit a busy schedule, then this school helps those people. If you have personal problems because you can hack it, then you need to grow up!
This University has no reason to rip you or anybody off! Yes, It is not cheep, or easy. But that is the price you pay for convinence of getting your degree faster. Now, if you gain a better job or promotion from getting your degree here at the University of Phoenix, then we are your hero! Your money is not going to make or break this school! So, why would UOP try to rip you off? Also, you can see that there are not many of you and so your support in this battle is very few!
It seems to me that you few people are bitter about a bad experience, and know that even the best of companies have their bad days!!!!!

I had the same experience, was pressured to hurry up and join in a rush, was told of a special that would end soon and could save some money but had to sign up right away. Classic car sales "today special only" tactic but didnt expect it from a school so never thought about it.
Their a private university, no govt funding, they'll tell you anything to get your money! Was promised all this "life experience credit" that wasnt given, flat denied and it was legit tech school and military school exp. I was told I would have to take a clep test for the credit...you can do that at ANY COLLEGE!!! They made it sound unique to them.
DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!
