I ordered a 40 gig western digital HD (Part - WD400BB so it said in pricewatch.com) and upon arrival, I receive a generic MDT harddrive.

The dealer said this was a Western Digital OEM harddrive so I contacted Western Digital and they said they did NOT manufacturer these harddrives.

I feel this company has totally wasted my time and tried to jip me and everyone off by false advertising a cheap generic harddrive as a Western Digital drive. Now I have to return this harddrive, wait for my money returned to my credit card, then buy another harddrive off a different company, and then wait for them to ship it and have it arrive here.

If needed, I have emails of western digital saying that they did NOT manufacturer these MDT harddrives.

Western Digital Rip Off, If you buy and pay for a Rolls Royce you wouldn't accept a Kia

Thom responded to the reported ripoff of Western Digitals name and rep. By saying the MKT or what ever the generic drive was great and the fellow making the compliant should not work on computers. Well Thom if you could read he paid for a Western Digital drive a great company and was given something else, bait and switch. I would be upset also. If you buy and pay for a Rolls Royce you wouldn't accept a Kia. So I can only come to the conclusion that Thom either has no ethics or he just can't read. Oh one last thing he may work for the dishonest dealer or the hard drive maker.

I've been using MDT drives for quite some time. They perform very well and are very competitively priced. Anyone who thinks they are a rip off is an idiot and should not work on computers.
