This is our story.. my friend and I, signed up for a gym membership for urban active!!!

Everything was smooth sailing untill... there personal trainers started buzzing around like flies to get our attention!!! They asked up if we would like a free session!! We said sure it was on 15 mins! We said our thank yous and we tried to head towards the equipment!! They stopped us again saying wait. Quote! "We know your unhappy with your weight!! Mind you my friend and I are not obese or out of shape we just want to tone!!! They had us weigh our self and get our body mass!!! And told.us we Are high risk!! At our age um... 150? Is just fine. So.the proceded to telling us that we need a trainer and how we would be so happy to lose the weight. My friend and I an in nursing school!! So we don't have the money to pay that extra expenses! Well they just told us we need to cut back on fast food and partying and just assuming we do all these things under the (((REDACTED FOUL LANGUAGE)))

..!! No we both have families to provide for..

So after literally 45 minutes of us telling them we don't have the money Ooooo yes I for got to mention they WANTED(360 DOLLARS UP FRONT TO COBER FIRST MONTHS AND LAST MONTH AND OUR PAYMENTS WILL ONLY BE 180 A MONTH AND SPLITTING IT BETWEEN THE TWO OF US 90 DOLLARS A PIECE!!!! WE DIDN'T HAVE THE MONEY I TOLD THEM OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!

We told them look when we have the money together will come back, they said (YOU CAN CANCEL!!! ANYTIME). THEY SAID WILL USE YOUR CREDIT CARD TO HOLD YOU A PLACE!! AND WHEN YOU HAVE THE MONEY YOU CAN JYST PAY IT!! WE ASKED HIM OVER AND OVER THIA WONT CHARGE THE CARD HE SAID NO OT WONT ONLY HOLDING YOU A PLACE .. YOU CAM CALL ON FRIDAY AND IF YOU DONT.WANT.TO CONTINUE WILL TAKE YOUR CARD OFF FILE!! YOU'LL NEVER BE CHARGED ..

THIS  PUTS THE CARD IN AND HAS MY FIREND PUT.HER SSN AND THAT WAS IT!! HE SAID WILL SEE YOU FRIDAY!!!

FRIDAY COMES AND MY FRIEND CARD HAS BEEN DECLINED AND URBAN ACTIVE CALLS RUDELY ASLING WHY THEY PAYMENT WASN'T AUTHORIZED!!! SHE.TOLD.THEM WHAT PAYMENT!!!

THEY GYM TO HER THAT SHE IS BEHIND 360 AND NEEDS TO BE PAID NOW FOR OUR PERSONAL TRAINING FEE SHE SAID THERE MUST BE A MISTAKE WE DIDN'T SIGN UP FOR ANYTHING!! I DIDN'T SIGN A DOCUMENT NOR DO I HAVE ANY RECORDS OF SIGNING ONE!! WE HAVE TOLD OUR STORY FIGHTING WITH THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY TELL US WE CANT BREAK OUR CONTRACT!! THAT WE NEVER NEW WE HAD!! WE EXPLAINED WE DONT HAVE THE MONEY!!

THURSDAY JANUARY 19 2012!! MY FRIENDS ACCOUNT WAS DEBIT 360! LEAVING HER WITH 68 CENTS THEY TOOK ALL.HER MONEY!! AND HAD KNOW REMORSE FOR IT JUST TELLING US!!! "IT WILL BENEFIT OUR FUTURE AMD THERE CONCERNED ABOUT OUR HEALTH.!!! CORPORATE SAID ITS THE GYMS WORD AGAINST OURS!!! TO THIS DAY WE STILL HAVE NO LEGAL DOCUMENT OR PRINT OUT OF THIS d**n CONTRACT THAT THEY TRICKED US INTO! A 12 MONTH CONTACT I WONDER HOW THESE PEOPLE SLEEP AT NIGHT KNOWING THEY ARE RIPPING INNOCENT PEOPLE OFF.

  I to got tricked into signing up for personal training at Urban Active. I was not told I was signing a contract, but for permission to take the monthly fees out of my checking account.

After a bad first experience with my trainer I decided this wasn't for me. I was also told I had a twelve month contract and there was nothing they could do to help me.

After many calls to the corporate office, a rip off report, and a BBB complaint, and a threat for an Attorney Generals complaint they finally took me seriously. They ended up canceling the contract and refunding me about 2/3 of the money I had put down.

This company honestly doesn't care about reports on here. They post that same bogus comment on every report on here. If you want something done I would file a BBB complaint. It took quite a bit of time and a few go arounds with them but ultimately they resolved the problem.  And since they dont have a signature on file for you or your friend I would have her contact her bank and have them reverse the charges.
