urbanQ, Qbate won't pay off on their rebate
I ordered a Reebok sports bag from urbanQ on 2/27/2001. This bag was presented as a gym bag. What I got was so small you could not fit a Kleenex box in it. I figured what the heck, it's only 99 cents after rebate. I carefully read the rebate form, followed all the instructions, made copies of everything, and sent in the information.
7 weeks went by and nothing (they were supposed to send a email in 4-6 weeks). I tried to contact them via email (there is no phone number available to the consumer under normal channels) three times over the next week with no answer. Finally an email arrived stating they disqualified my rebate due to a missing UPC proof-of-purchase. I replied they were wrong and I had copies of everything.
They then replied that I was supposed to send the Q-bate UPC seal, not the manufacturers UPC seal. I stated that NOWHERE is that stated in their rebate form. It states "the original Proof of Purchase that can easily be found attached to the packaging"
When Customer Service continued to refuse my request, I (through hours of research) got access to the owner's direct line (516-359-9578). I talked to him, and he said they specifically call out for the use of the Q-bate UPC seal. I read the form to him, and he said he was surprised it didn't say Q-bate UPC seal and that he would look into it.
I have yet to hear back from him
