On Jan 18 2012 my home was electrocuted by our local power company so I
filed an insurance claim and received a roughly $65,000 check. Roughly
$55,00 was for damage and roughly $10,000 was for personal items. When you
have a major claim on your home the check is cut to you and the mortgage
company. U.S. Bank's policy is that they give you 1/3 to get started 1/3
when the house is 75% complete and the last 1/3 when the home is 100%
complete. First off they just completely refused to give me my $10,000 and
counted that into the draws. Secondly it is 100% impossible to reach these
goals in today's economy. I couldn't find a single contractor capable of
floating this kind of money until the next draw so I had to come up with the
money on my own. Then at each draw they made ME pay for an inspector then
would claim the house was way less complete than it was and would only give
me a small check to get a little more done. In turn I would have to pay for
another inspection over and over again. Now the house is 100% complete and
has been for several months but I still have not received my last check they
just keep asking for the same paperwork over and over again. I provide it
then they ask for something else that I provided them at the very beginning
of this whole ordeal. I am currently deployed to the middle east and my wife
is trying to deal with it and they just continue to refuse to pay me. The
ironic part is that it's a little over $10,000....
