My significant other works for a charitable organization that pays her to audit gambling. She was making several deposits to the Organization's accounts and while there she thought to deposit her payroll check.

She happened to be out of deposit slips and the Teller offered to fill the slip out for her. Although she sat there with check book in hand and the account number in full view of the teller to copy. The teller wrote down the account number to deposit the check, mistakenly writing down the number of the account in which the check was drawn.

My significant other has several sources of income which 2 are electronic deposits and two actual deposits of checks. After paying her mortgage and the larger family bills getting toward the lean time of the month she started receiving phone calls from the bank that her account head insufficient funds. A total of 11 overdraft charges accumulated against her as she could not find her mistake.

The charitable gaming organization received its monthly account summery and quickly notice that her check had been deposited into the charitable organizations account. The organization called her asking why she would deposit her check into this account. After examining the organization's books the organizations realized that it was in excess of funds in its account the entire total of my significant others check. The organization reissued her a check for the original amount of the improperly deposited original check.

My significant other went to the bank with a copy of the deposit slip and questioned the banks intentions to correct the error.

To date the bank offered to accept half the blame and refunded only half of the overdraft fees clause by this mistake.
