My family and I are very disappointed in these government agencies lack of professionalism and cultural sensitivity towards other people. It seems that workers in the US CIS / Asylum offices have some type of preconceived bias towards people with South East Asian and Middle Eastern descent. In our interview process, the immigration/asylum officers seem to hold some stereo types and personal bias against us with their questions. Their offices totally lacked people who could relate to religious minorities from conflict areas. My opinion is that they are trying to deprive others their rights to freedom and the American Dream.

Insensitive Miami Asylum Office

With the U.S. invasion of Iraq and the subsequent political conflict, there need to be more acceptance of refugees from the Middle East, Far East and North Africa. The Miami Asylum Office continues to show insensitivity towards individuals from these areas. The office administrators have failed to promote a diverse environment where employees are recruited from various background. With the thousands of Syrian, Iraqi and Afghanstani refugees, there is a great need to have staff that are reflective of diverse cultures. It is pathetic that this office seems to only cater to Cubans while excluding refugee applicants from other parts of the world.

P.S. Anyone who experienced inequitable treatment by this office should contact their U.S. Representative or Senators!!!

Are you serious??? Get real - go to your local Immigration and Naturalization Office and file the appropriate paperwork to start your CITIZENSHIP application.  Stop with the discrimination and asylum crap.  YOU have access to a computer, can speak ENGLISH and want to be a citizen??? Take the steps legally and you do not need a fly by night "attorney".
