We entered into a verbal contract, I was offered nearly $3,000.00 for my scrap gold. I weighed it, calculated it and their offers seemed reasonable as per their website. I have pictures to prove
that I sent them all the jewelery, I have an inventory list of the jewelery I sent including a diamond ear ring that was my grandmothers that was real that they are claiming is fake. According to my calculations I sent them nearly $5,000 worth of gold but at least $3,000.00 and they refuse to return the gold without me signing a release of liability so I won't sue. Well I refuse to release them of liability when they clearly breached our verbal contract. I was offered $3,000 nearly by Jose Cabba and then received a phone call the next day from Steven Sanders, to tell me they would not pay as much as they offered and gave me a different offer of only $573.00, the price of gold has hit historic highs, currently is at $1530 an ounce. I am clearly trying to protect my rights and they have
clearly tried to swindle me out of my possessions and my grandparents possessions that we both sent. I am asking for my gold back but they refuse to return it without me signing that liability release and I am not giving them that because I will not get anything back. They also stated they would gladly return the gold if I didn't want to sell it to them before I sent it but now they are wanting the release of liability signed before they return my gold. Also they stated they would return my gold without charging me, now they are wanting me to pay $60.00 for insurance
to return my package. This is a clear violation of my rights and a breach of the verbal contract we entered into. I am a single man and was trying to get money because of current economic conditions. This was my grandparents jewelery that this company is clearly trying to steal. They possibly switched the diamond that was completely real with a fake gem because they are saying its fake now. This is ridiculous. Please help! DONT USE USGOLDBUYERS.COM, they will rip you off!!

Hector Salinas attempt to scam US Gold Buyers

#2UPDATE Employee

Sat, May 07, 2011

Mr. Salinas contacted US Gold Buyers, Inc. ( New York Corporation) and described the items that he wished to sell. Based on his verbal description, he was offered a quote of approximately  $3000.00.
Furthermore, based on his description, Mr. Salinas was qualified for free insured shipping of his items to our facility. Mr. Salinas abused that priviledge by overinsuring his items by $2000.00. If he felt that his items were worth $5000 why did he agree to sell for $3000?
Was he hoping for his items to get lost or stolen so that he can cash in on $5000?
When his items arrived, they were video recorded and weighed for accuracy. After his items were examined, it was noted that over 90% was costume jewelry and less than $600 was recoverable in precious metals.
Mr. Salinas either failed to do his homework or intentionally attempted to defraud the company.

US Gold Buyers has been in exsistence for several years. The company is recognized by several reputable news media sources such as Wall Street Journal, ABC Nighline, Good Morning America, and many others as being reputable and fair. US  Gold Buyers has maintained an A+ rating with BBB. Click the link to view http://www.bbb.org/new-york-city/business-reviews/jewelry-buyers/us-gold-buyers-inc-in-new-york-ny-93161/US Gold Buyers, Inc. has over 500,000 satisfied customers. We didn't get to that level by practicing unfair business.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the business, there are petty, less than honest folks out there that attempt to take advantage of a good situation. When their scheme fails they stoop down even lower by writing false statements to sites such as Ripoff Report.
From all of us at US Gold Buyers, Inc., we wish that Mr. Salinas realizes that petty scams will get him in to trouble and that he develops positive outlook on life.
Shame on you Mr. Salinas!
Sincerely,
David Franks
Vice President
US Gold Buyers, Inc.
