My daughter received a call from a "202" number, from a woman with a Pakistanian accent.  She asked for another number to confirm this and she was given another "202' number and spoke with a man who also had the same accent.  He stated that she completed a survey and from that survey she was awarded a grant--not a college grant.

Many questions I told my daughter to ask the man he was not able to answer them right away.  Was placed on hold for quite sometime and had to call back.  In order to claim her grant money of $8,400, she needed to go to Western Union and send them $245, then call them back.

From that point, they would be able to send her the money by direct deposit (within 45 minutes) or visa card (mailed).  Asked how long does she have to pay the money and they said it would be best now or they could extend it for 1 week, asked to extend it for 1 week.  After the call ended, went online to find out about this free grant money and sure enough, there it was on the Ripoff Report website.

They are just trying to get your bank information to use against you and whatever charges occur will be against your account and you will be liable for giving out your information.  It would be very difficult to blame this company who doesn't have a real website address.
