Complaint Review: US GUARDIAN

For a few weeks I have been receiving calls from this credit card company....always telling them no but having them hang up on me. But on Aug 14 2002 I stayed on and let the lady say her thing. She told me I had been approved for a Mastercard of $2500 and a Visa for $2000, she explained the 4.6% intereste rate, no annual.....sounded good. I said I didn't think I applied, she told me I must have through the mail or online.

I am in need for a break so I gave her my account info to have a one time fee of 199.00 taken out on Aug 23 2002. I asked if it was a rip off, and if its just a telemarketer, she assured me I would recieve my card no more than 8 days after the paymnt. 15 mins later another woman called me (from security there) told me she was taping the conversation "for my protection" verified the information.

That night I got online to make sure it was an okay company, but didn't find anything.

I was so excited about the cards, to pay off bills, ect that I tried to call today (Aug 16 2002) to have them take the payment out sooner but only got busy signal. I thought that was very unproffessional...ONE they didn't give me an 800 # but a 416-289-3634 and TWO the busy signal. All day, repeately..twice I got a message of a man telling to leave a message.

So I got online again trying to find this company. I got nothing until I typed in SCAM. Then this site came up and I then found out that this company is an AKA and has scammed several people. I knew it sounded too good to be true. I called my bank, put a stop payment on the 199.00 for both company names. I just hope it works.
