US Securities Terminated me a month before I was due to give birth after working me average 60+ hours a week! Trousdale Dr Tennessee
I need some help and information from all you smarter than me people out there. I went to work for US Securities in 8-06, was laid off in Feb 07. In June of 07, found out I was pregnant. In Sept 07, US Securities called me back to work, and promised all accomidation due to my pregnancy. Told my manager if I needed time off for doc appointments, etc it was ok! My second day back, they fired my manager! The idiot they replaced her with decided that she didn't like me and made my life hell. I stayed despite that, since at that time I figured it would be too hard to find another job because of my advancing pregnancy and because the district manager had promised me to accomidate all of my restrictions. At five months, they fired all other employees leaving only me and my manager to work, and this is a 24 hour job, so she and I were both working 12 hour shifts 7 days a week. Needless to say, this just about killed me, working from 8pm to 8am 7 days a week. My blood pressure shot through the roof, and my OB gave me a letter to give to them saying I was no longer able to work 7 days a week, restricted me to 5. My manager ignored this letter, told me I should be grateful to just have a job and continued to make me work 7 days a week. Finally, they hired enough people, and I went back to working 5 days a week, some 8 hours, some 12 hour shifts, without complaining. All midnight shifts, boy that was hell while pregnant, but I did it without complaining. On January 13, when they got the last employee hired and trained, they called me to tell me I was terminated, for no reason! I had already given them the letter detailing my maternity leave on Feb 10, I was due to have a C-Section on Feb 19. Just a phone call saying sorry but this just isn't working out! How can they do this to a dedicated employee who worked crazy hours for them while pregnant even to the degree that it risked my health and the health of my baby! What are my options, please can anyone tell me? I am so upset that they think they can get away with this, can they?
