I recently realized that I was missing an SS payment to me for the month of Sept /16.  I showed no record of deposit or cashing. I then tried to contact a local office ( Tampa) to see if it had indeed shown to be cashed - since if it had not - tat would indicate it was euither lost or never sent. I phoned the local number given by their site several times ony to discover I was trapped in a canned recording situation with  no abiity to speak with a HUMAN BEING or even leave a message.  In my last phone attempt severldays ago I was put on hold for a TIMED HOUR!  ONE ENTIRE HOUR!  During this insufferable treatment I  was given no alternative to be called back or leave a message.

I then attempted to contact my local Congressional representative - only to find after several exasperating waits and messages that they had apparantly taked a 'vacation' from public service that - so far- has lasted an ENTIRE WEEK. So as my least resort I am doing what you now are reading here. It appears that our corrupt government is at liberty to disenfranchise ignore humiate and discourage its citizens by shutting them out.

I do not know if yor oranization helps with these government type outrages or not - since you category choices mentined no abuses by Social Security. Obviously my Congressman will not help - and the local newspaper will not even return calls for help unless you are reporting some sort of cheap tabloid mentlity juicy sex scandle.

I have no where to turn for help. Nobody cares - especially when the victim is old and ill.
