Complaint Review: US Softs Online

US Softs Online ,shopsfotsonline.com Sells Conterfiet MSOffice Professinal 2007 Internet

I had purchased MS Offfice Professional 2007 online from this seller (US Softs Online), but was sent counterfeit software. The seller at frist responded prompty to my email about the software not passing the Genuine Advantage Validation check on the Microsoft website. Once confronted with evidence that the software was counterfiet, I never heard from the seller again.

Even though it says US in the name of the site, the produt ended up shipping from China. What arrived looked very convincing, with shiny hologram disks and a nice legitimate-looking plastic box that apeared to have all of the security feautures. I later discovered the disks to have a layer of clear plastic over the labels, however, that when peeled, resulted in some of the hologram label also getting pulled off.

I paid using PayPal, who would not do anything to help because I had recieved a package from the seller, even if the product recieved was not as described- i.e. suspected counterfeit.

When the software failed the Microsoft validation check, I wrote to the seller. The seller sent me additional product keys each time I complained, but none of those was accepted by the Microsoft validation tool. Also, when I ran the validation diagnostic tool, it said the software is Office Professional Plus ("Plus" is the volume license version, not the retail version I should have recieved), and indicates 108 Invalid VLK (volume license key). A 108 invalid VLK can indicate that the key code was made using an illegal key generator.

If you suspect you have been sent counterfeit Microsoft software, try the Genuine Advantage Validation tool on the Microsoft website (http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/) to check the software. If it fails validation, there will be additional instructions on what you can do, including Microsoft's program where those who are found eligible will be sent a legitimate copy of the software if you send them the counterfiet version, etc.

"Gosh!  I guess there isn't any "buyer protection" with PayPal.  I have buyer protection against this type of FRAUD with VISA."

Wrong !!!!!!!!!!!!               !...There is buyer protection with Paypal, but only if purchased through Ebay. HOWEVER, the poster qualifies for Paypals buyer complaint policy, and it works. How do I know? Because I once ordered something not from ebay using my paypal, lodged a dispute..and the money was refunded..so simple..here is the policy...

What you bought was very different from what you actually got..

PayPal's Buyer Complaint Policy lets you submit a dispute for an item that is significantly not as described. By doing so, you have the opportunity to resolve your dispute directly with the seller. Visit the PayPal Resolution Center to file a dispute. See eligibility

If this seller is a scammer you will most likely get a refund. The seller only has a limited time to respond. If they do not respond in that time, or do respond but it is an unsatisfactory response, paypal will issue the refund with no problems.

Perhaps the poster would care to explain why paypal didn't honor it? Something left out of the report maybe? If not, lodge a dispute with the paypal resolution center...here are the terms..you should have been covered..I underlined key terms that apply.

13.2 Types of problems covered.

Item Not Received (INR)

Significantly Not as Described (SNAD) (see definition below)

13.7 SNAD Definition

An item is Significantly Not as Described if it is materially different than what the seller described in the item listing. Here are some examples:

You received a completely different item. Example: You purchased a book and received a DVD or an empty box.
The condition of the item was misrepresented. Example: The listing said "new" and the item was used.

The item was advertised as authentic but is not authentic.

The item is missing major parts or features which were not disclosed in the listing.
You purchased three items from a seller but only received two.

The item was damaged during shipment.

However, to qualify...

Open a Dispute within 45 days of the date you sent the payment then follow the online dispute resolution process described below under Dispute Resolution.

Keep your PayPal account in good standing.

IMO you should report this matter to ICE-these schmuks are sending conterfeit software into the US.

Let me guess, the customs declaration indicated it was a gift valued at $10?
