I contracted with US Vanlines of texas to move my automobiles and household goods. They stated that they were a "meet or beat" shipper.

Over the course of shopping for movers, I called them several times to get estimates. The sales person, Emily G, promptly provided me with updated estimates.

I finally found an old moving invoice from a prior move with a National Company and relayed that information to the sales person; listing large items, beds, mattresses, statues and giving her a list of boxes that were used in the last move. I thought that this would be sufficient since this was a partial move; it would be better to over estimate than under estimate. In my email to Emily, I clearly state that this is an updated item list with the boxes that would be needed and that she needed to provide me with the estimated cost including materials and services. She did so, and sent me a form to fill out in order to have the deposit charged to my credit card. She also sent me a contract. I called her about the contract which stated that the final payment had to be in cash or money order. After talking with her, she said that it would be OK to have payment in full by my Visa Card. I amended the contract to reflect this, faxed it to them and faxed them the credit card authorization for the deposit.

The mover did not show up on the stated day and I called US Vanlines of TX, who told me the original driver had a breakdown and that my new driver would be William.

William called and asked me about my move. In response to the item list (not inventory list) that I had relayed to US Vanlines of Texas, he said that he was only told that 45 medium boxes would be packed. I told him that I have emails proving otherwise and he said that he would go get extra boxes to fit my needs.

-- My issues with William Rivera of Homeland Transportation & Delivery, LLC is another RipOff report so you can look that up in addition to this one --

After the items were loaded on the truck, I was not provided with a bill of ladening, written inventory list or copy of the extra insurance that I purchased. The driver left (drove off) while I was checking to see if all items had been loaded on the truck.

I called US Vanlines of Texas to make them aware of that in addition to no one calling me about picking up my automobiles. When they heard that no one had come to get my vehicles, the woman on the phone stated "Oh, I'd better get right on that". I was told to stay by the phone in order to get the phone call. I had a flight to catch in order to get to El Paso and close on my new house (US vanlines of texas was fully aware of this). No one called for the longest time. This is what transpired: 1. I missed my flight to El Paso due to waiting for someone to call me about picking up my cars and I had to rebook at an additional cost of $450.00 2. When someone did call, the price for the car move increased by several hundred dollars. 3. The car mover did not accept the payment terms in the contract I made with US Vanlines of Texas. I decided to find my own movers and listed it elsewhere.

US Vanlines of Texas did not give me a partial refund due to them not handling my car move. They are directly responsible for me missing my flight and the additional cost incurred to rebook.

In dealing with the mover of my household goods, they have not held up to the terms of their contract to represent me in dealing with that mover. They have not responded to my emails or returned my phone calls requesting assistance.

I have later found out that US Vanlines of Texas subcontracted to a company they own, R&S Relocation and Storage to handle my household move. R&S Relocation and Storage (relocationandstorage.com) then subcontracted to Mr. William Rivera of Homeland Transportation & Delivery, LLC to handle the move.

At the moment, I have no household goods, the driver does not respond to emails and when calling his cell,I am hung up on. Further US Vanlines of Texas will not assist me with dealing with this driver.

Can someone with a law degree please help me with this??? I have the full email trail and my notes on this whole mess, and I just want my items back undamaged and intact.

Upon finding that David B had submitted a report to this site, US Vanlines of Texas felt a need for rebuttal. David called our sales office several times and Emily was more than happy to help him in anyway possible she worked to meet his needs as best as she could. David booked his move, and was informed that there would be a two day window for the movers to arrive.

Unfortunatly, the truck that was en route did break down but a replacement was sent immediatly and arrived promptly on the second day of the window. William Rivera of Homeland Transportation and Deliverly LLC. was a reputable affiliate. We rely on the Department of Transportation in these matters to supply us with any information they have.

David was also upset that William only had 45 boxesto pack his belongings, but William explained getting more boxes was not a problem. Forthwhile the items were loaded on the truck and apparently Williwm departed.

David was again upset that he didn't receive a bill of lading, written inventory list, or a copy of the extra insurence he had purchased. We don't understand why he wasn't provided these documents. When David contacted US Vanlines and explained the conduct of William, we took that very seriously and due to further problems with William adn this company, US Vanlines of Texas chose to discontinue use of this affiliate.

The car transport, another affiliate , who was scheduled who was to transport Davis's car had a price hike due to the rising cost in fuel. The cost for car transporting increased nationwide and David chose not to go wit our Transporter but to locate his own and was fully refunded by our company.David did receive all of his household goods and although he was unsatisfied, we did our best to accomidate his evert need. US Vanlines has repeatedly tried to contact David and still as of date our attemps have failed.

US Vanlines of Texas scheduled over 1200 moves a year and out of that we have less than a 1% complaint ratio.
Thank You,
United States Vanlines of Texas
