US West rip-off Prison Telephone Calls
The cost of 20 minute collect phone calls within the South Dakota penal system (in-state) from the Redfield Trusty Unit, Redfield SD to Sioux Falls SD (approx. 170 miles away) is $7.76 per call.
I just received my first phone bill through US West and the total number of calls was 39, from Feb. 2, to Mar 7, totalling $294.00+ This is a big rip-off. I have paid out over $2000 in 1999 alone for telephone bills, which as a taxpayor & homeowner I am already being taxed too much and because of my association within the penal system, I am being victimized by them.
