I worked for US Xpress for 2 years, I too have been lied to, cheated outta money, harrassed by dispatch, givin illagel loads to run, promised a dedicated run if I would come back after I quit, Have been told to drive my truck with unsafe tires, was told I refused freight when I NEVER did, even ran a as team when I was in training my first week out, and saftey KNEW it because I called them to inform them. I ran 3 months out and would ask for hometime only to be let down when it came time for me to be home I would be 2000 miles from home, and dispatch would say "There is no freight". I have missed Doctors appt, Birthdays, Holidays, funerals, When my father had a heart attack I was in Kansas City KS. and I called dispatch to tell them I need to go home (to my parents house in Nashville,TN) NOW they told me they had no truck in the area to repower my load that I needed to deliver the load that was going to Sparks, NV and then they would TRY to find me a load going to my parents home.

I have recieved MANY letters from the re-hire dept. asking me to come back, I did call and ask if I could come back as a CITY DRIVER in Colton,CA since I live 20 miles from the terminal, I was told I do not qualify as a driver??? lmao I drove for them for 2 years..have a Class A CDL with Hazmat...no accidents...no tickets...no service failures, and I live within 20 miles of the terminal (50 miles is the requirement) hmmmm how do I NOT qualify??? Seems to me I made someone mad at USX and they don't like me....HAHAHAHAHAHA what a joke that company is!!!! And as for the lady who said "I have never been asked to run Illegal" you must not know how to run a log book because if you DID you would have KNOWN that you HAVE ran illegal for that company!!! dumbass!

Get off of your self righteous high horse. Aparently you know how to spell the three letter words. Even the occasional eight letter word. Your only mistake is driving the bloody vehicle. If in your 2 years of 'professional' experience in a semi think that you are entitled to a local job strictly because you gave them two years. Then son; you're sadly mistaken. Maybe the minimum requirements were two years; but someone that may have been there longer than you; had more hours of service under them. Maybe there might be a little faveoritism. But I highly doubt it. USX is a large carrier. They may turnover hundereds of employees a month. But guess what. The average turnover for the industry changes daily. Any wheres from 130-50% So don't get your panties in a bunch because one route you applied for was denied. As for the other things. I feel for you. When you turn in something two months in advance; or something unexpected like a death in the family; the company should have some leway to get you where you need to be. But there are unforscene circumstances that may make it impossible to get you somewhere. You aren't in that room at the time. If you were, then you weren't on the road doin your job. They have deadlines and policies that they have to follow. Think your job is stressfull. There whole job depends on you getting your load there on time. You aren't the only one that suffers. If they don't meet some quota of driver miles and/or loads moved per day then they could lose their job. YOU arent their only coworker. They sometimes have several other drivers and other people breathing down their backs to get something that needed to be done as of yesterday. Eventhough you got the load today. The customer wanted it there as of yesterday. It's a never ending battle. notice through out this entire script sofar that I use no profanity. I believe that it proves more maturity when one can resort to other communication by not swearing. No amount of crying like a enraged teenager is goin to get anything done. I know you think im full of stuff. Maybe I am. But yeah. As for the running illegal logs. It is your choice as to how you run with the logs. There is no amount of force they can use to make someone run illegally. If they do this consistantly. You are unwilling to accept this. Then get out. JUST GET OUT. If they report something on your DAC. Make a large paper trail. Requesting records pertaining to the incident; make them to everyone you can think of. Eventually they won't be able to ignore it. If they still do. Get an attorney involved. Get a supoena issued, and have them served. The legal system is involved. Make sure that all official communicatons are done via qualcomm. They are a third party agency that has nothing to do with USX. They provide an undestroyable record of all communications that come across their system. If they don't respond via qualcomm and still insist on voice contact. Then nothings been said. Just like health care. If it aint writting, it was never done. If they give you an order over CB or Cell; and not over qualcomm. It's as good as never been said. Because there is no physical record of that communication taking place. If the company was that bad to you. I really dont see why you would dedicate two years to them . I think there was more than whats been said. What's been said is only a fraction of the real story.

USX is a large corporation so large than when I was let go (no i am not a sorry employee) they continue to pay for my insurance 3 weeks after my last 2 checks. From call to their acounting/ insurance department was informed that I am resposible for that even though I was no longer an employee there. To this day 2 years later that is still on my credit report and USX would not remove since they feel I have to repay them for insurance since they paid for it even though it was after I was no longer an employee. I can see what you were talking about... for my turn I was told to help and make a run (violation of service hours) and help with company and payed the price w / a termination....
something to think about them..

Hey Sally, did you ever wonder why the general public is of the opinion most truck drivers can't speak proper English?

Hey Sally, did you ever wonder why the general public is of the opinion most truck drivers don't have the intelligence to maturely discuss an issue without resorting to insults?

As for your comment about USX boy are you ever dumb, how can you sit there and type something you know NOTHING about, was you in MY truck? NO! Was you my trainer? NO! I still have friends at that company and all say the same thing..."WE CARE MY a*s" that is the USX slogan to get drivers when infact they don't give a rats a*s about a driver, and as for my hometime? welllll lemme tell ya this much, I put my hometime in 2 MONTHS in advance so that I knew I would get it, did I ever make it home ontime? NO! And YES I do know what LEGAL means and the ONLY reason I got new tires was because I rolled up in a scale house and showed my tires to D.O.T. and THEY called USX and told them my tires were UNSAFE, so buddy boy mind your OWN business and stay outta mine, so you love USX good for you, you are probaly one of those drivers who kisses a*s to get what you want and has no PRIDE, and will take s**t from someone for no reason, well I for one do NOT put up with bullshit and thats just what USX hands to all drivers, some will take it some with a backbone WILL NOT! I no longer drive I went back to school to make a REAL life for myself, so I would NOT have to be just a number to someone sitting at a desk, Until you have walked in someone elses shoes, don't post sometimg you have NO CLUE about.

I was a Driver Trainer for US Xpress

#6UPDATE EX-employee responds

I was a driver trainer for US Xpress. There are channels to take if the trainer that she is referring to actually did what she is accusing US of. First of all, dispatch WILL NOT dispatch a new trainee with illegal loads or on team status. However, the trainer can push the student to do those thing by withholding information so that the trainers paycheck is larger. The best route to fix that is to talk to the training department and tell them what is going on. If she didn't, that is her fault. If she did, something would have been done about it. Also, since I know that safety would have put a stop to that, isn't it a little unfair to tell the company about it, have them fix it, then complain about it anyway. Kind of back stabbing isn't it. She signs on saying if any illegal activity or activities that are against policy are going on, she will report it. I would not hire someone who didn't go through the channels and then blamed me for their problems.

Also, she signed on to be a truck driver. That means you are away from home. The system is not designed to get people home on a whim, and on their timing or at their discretion. I have missed important things as well. But I accept that as part of the job. 99% of the time, if I needed to get home, I would get my hometime in 2 weeks before needed, and I would be home. It only takes so much common sense to stay in touch with dispatch when you are a ways away from home and your home time is getting nearer. Sometimes they have to be reminded. How far in advance did she know about those birthdays or other events. I will guarantee she knew well enough ahead of time to let them know so she could be there. And as a truck driver, sometimes it just doesn't work out. If you don't like it, don't try driving for anyone else. They can't even match the care that US gives their drivers.

Illegal tires my butt. It is your responsibility to do the pretrip inspection. If you have illegal tires, let maintenance know, and they will get you to a shop. They would rather change a brand new tire that you aren't sure of than let you run with illegal tires. By the way, do you know what the legal limits are. Should you even be driving?

If she ran illegal, that is at her discretion. That is also why she probably does not qualify as a driver any more. Run illegal, tell them you did it, then expect to be hired. Doesn't sound real smart to me.

Just because you live in a certain area, or have driven for US for a while, doesn't require them to give you regional, dedicated, or local. That is at their discretion and there are many drivers with seniority that get that job before you do. US doesn't care if you make someone mad. If they didn't hire you back and you think you should be rehireable, how about talking to upper management and fixing the problem. Cause I guarantee this didn't fix anything. You wrote to a ripoff website, and you probably still don't run local for US do you?

Take care of business before you go writing places like this. I hear enough about how US does this and US does that. Then I ask the driver if he is doing what the company requires. More often than not, of course not. They are better than all the other professional drivers out there. Yet they have the most complaints. You do understand the term Professional Driver right?
