Duh. Against my better judgment, I let myself be pressured into signing up with these jerks, who peddle hope and optimism to the detriment of those who are vulnerable. I've paid their exorbitant lease rates for a year, but no more. I closed my checking account and am now getting nasty letters from A-1 Leasing. (USA Card Services and Start Up Essentials are out of business as of June 2007.)
Do this:
1. Go to the Web site for the Michigan Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division: www.ag.state.mi.us/ and fill out a complaint.
2. Go to the Web site for the western Michigan Better Business Bureau: westernmichigan.bbb.org and fill out a complaint.

4. Document EVERYTHING. Every contact, every conversation with any of them. Write it down. Keep it.
5. Talk to a lawyer. Try Legal Aid if you can't afford a lawyer. Every state has some kind of legal assistance program.
