In december I call the 800 number (customer service) to inform them about several items that i purchased were damaged. After placing the report a tech came to my home to view the merchandise. the tech took pictures and stated that someone will be in contact with me.

Several weeks later i talked to someone from the financial department (do to me stopping my allotment because i refused to pay for items that i can not use) I was then informed that someone will be in contact with me about my damaged items.

I then received an email stating that i can go to the store and re-select the items that were damaged since it would not be cost effective to repair the merchandise that you have in your home.

The gentleman from the financial department informed me to contact customer service to find out when i can go to re-select the items.

I called and was informed that i could only reselect the livingroom set and not the bed, i informed the customer service rep that the bed was split and could not be replaced.

she then directed me to the regional manager who refused to take any of my phone calls. I called and left several messages and sent several emails and not one email was returned nor were any phone calls returned

Each and every time i called i was placed on hold for 15 minutes or more at a time. Everytime i called they stated that the regional manager was either in a meeting or away from her desk.

I finally received this email from the regional manager:

We are in receipt of the repair report, although your sofa and loveseat can be repaired, USA Discounter's in an effort to show you how much we value your business will replace you sofa and loveseat as only those items are damaged.

Your extended warranty calls for USA Discounter's to have your damaged items repaired if parts are available, and they are; However, I have been advised that this is not satisfactory to you (?) so we will send the technician back to your home to repair those items for you.

I then called back several more times to find out why i could have to bed replaced and again nothing. I even took pictures and sent them through email.

I then informed them that i was going to stop my allotment until this situation is resolved because i am paying for merchandise that i can not use.

well this is the email that the Regional Manager sent me:

Miss. Lxxxx:

I have attached a copy of your warranty; please see the underlined portion of the warranty. USA Discounter's had agreed to have all of your merchandise repaired according to the contractual agreement. Please advise which days are most convenient for you. Please respond to this mail and let me know a date next week that you can make yourself available for his arrival.

So because I made several calls and sent several emails, the Regional Manager is upset and now has went against her word and there policy.

USA discounter is a rip off. They dont have good customer service and they lie to there cutomers. I dont understand why i have to go through so much over items that should be replaced.

I will be filing a complaint about USA discounters and I will be talking to a lawyer and possible a news station to report them. I will also be stopping my allotment until this situation is resolved.

Sorry to hear of your experience, but cant say I'm surprised either. I am a former employee of USA Discounters (store manager). I come from a corporate background with an international company, and never in my professional life have I ever experienced a company that is so disfunctional!

I never was fond of working there, however my store made the sales numbers and it was a job. Sadly I was injured at work and immediately taken out of work by an orthopedic surgeon who said I was in danger of being permanently paralyzed! So I notified my work, manager and even the VP of the company and NEVER did I hear from them except 4 weeks later when the company attorney (very arrogant and full of himself) and he fired me for not filling out a form before I left...WTF????

So my point is this, if they dont care about a great, dedicated employee...would anyone think they cared about them as a consumer? NO!

I have filed a complaint with the EEOC, and also looking for an attorney who specializes in employment law, particulary violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act.....

This company cares nothing of you, and with my experience with them, they care nothing excpet selling. The items are good, but way over priced, and the interest rates are crazy! They do pray upon in their own words "certain demographics" of the population and it's now clear to me as to why!

First of all, I am sorry to hear that you have had so much trouble. I would, however, like to speak on their behalf. My husband and I left gov't service and moved to Louisiana. We didn't realize how difficult the situation was regarding jobs and have not been able to get enough money together other than survive. I knew that I was going to have to pay for the furniture out of pocket but didn't have the money. I called the USA Discounters and spoke with those handling my account and was initially told to call back the next month as I was already paid up. When I called back the next month I told them that I didn't know what I was going to do and was told that because I had been making the allotment payments for 6 months that they could do a refinance and the reason they wanted me to wait was so that I would have ANOTHER month in which I didn't need to pay. The stores didn't have much information to help me other than give me the other 800 number to call but those that handled my account. Great People.
