Complaint Review: USA Ragdolls

USA Ragdolls Chocolatta Ragdolls Ryan Fuller Sick cat, lying breeder College Station TX

The kitten we purchased arrived via a flight without whiskers on one side of his face, a missing patch of fur, terrible ear mites, and a persistent upper respiratory infection which required multiple antibiotics. Looking back at the blurry pictures Ryan Fuller of USA Ragdolls (formerly Chocolatta Ragolls) shared, the kitten was missing the whiskers from a young age which he did not disclose or respond to my inquiry regarding. On top of that, that missing patch of fur turned into an infectious ringworm requiring the whole family (mom, dad, kids, grandma, nanny, and kitten) to go oral antifungals.

I've paid almost as much for treatment for the family and cat as I paid for him (2k and 400 for the flight). Finally, while we love him and are training him, he is very aggressive. Buyer beware. I only found his name after I asked how I should pay and after a quick Google search I found terrible reviews from a previous Ragdoll company he owned. I should have I asked for my deposit back but was hoping for the best. I shouldn't have overlooked the obvious.

Dodged a bullet with Ryan Fuller

We wanted to get my son a ragdoll from USA Ragdolls for Christmas 2020. We found Ryan through a Google search and was excited he had a litter of kittens that will be ready by Christmas. At first, Ryan was very responsive and even spoke to him on the phone. He knew a lot about Ragdolls and was experienced in shipping kittens out. We trusted him (our first mistake) and went ahead with the transaction. We paid a deposit of $700 to reserve a kitten via Venmo (our second mistake). After we paid our deposit, he ghosted us for a few months.

After doing a Google search, we read so many bad reviews and sick kitten stories that we didn’t feel comfortable going forward with the transaction. Finally, he responded back and told us he had been unavailable because of COVID. At this point, we no longer wanted to continue and asked him for our deposit back. He hesitated at first and didn’t want to refund our money. We kept at him and he finally refunded us.

We ended up going with another breeder and made sure we didn’t make the same mistakes. I asked to get on video calls with the breeder to see the kitten. I asked for references and made sure she has good reviews. And we paid via PayPal Goods and Services so I’m protected as a buyer. Ryan is an unethical breeder who should be held legally responsible for selling sick kittens. We dodged the bullet but could have easily ended up on the other side. I’m sorry you went through this with him. He is a horrible person.
