My name is James i started driving for USA Truck in jan of 09. I was promised by C-1 trucking school this was the best decision of my life and that I WILL make a lot of money in doing so. I went to C-1 in Indy ,IN where the first week was great. But then the second week started my trainer was named DC which was an old army boot camp drill Sargent. Every time I made a mistake he would ask " What the f**k are you doing?" When I said I'm not sure I was told to get out of the truck. Then DC then began yelling at me as if I was in the army in front of other students. By the way I'm no child and not a young adult I'm 30. To be yelled at like this was very rude and belittling me.

When I finally left C-1 training I went home as promised but then Had to wait a week for orientation which was a joke because all the paper work I had filled out at c-1 I had to refill out for orientation. four days of watching videos and filling out paperwork then another road test. ohhh by the way you do not get paid for orientation. I then had to wait two weeks for a trainer. No pay again. Then when I get with my trainer I drove only nights never seen the sun come up or go down just blackness. Then I only backed up 8 times the whole 28 days I was out there but If I didn't sign the paperwork he'd kick me off the truck then I still be out of a job. That's right if the trainer doesn't like you or for whatever reason he or she feels fit they can kick you off the truck and YOU have to find your own way home because USA just fired you without you knowing it and still owing them the money. Ahh the moment I have been waiting on my own truck. I open the door and shut the door faster then you can blink due to the smell. I have never smelled anything like this did somebody die in there the smell burned my nose hair made me tear up.

So as a man I took a deep breath and in I go.... Trash ,Trash ,Trash o my god I just moved into the city dump. I look around trying to breath very little by the way, papers broken stuff all over the floor, dirty underwear and bloody what happen here?!!!! I went in to ask and was told by ( another driver ) that I had got a wrecked trucked and YES somebody died in the crash the driver..... I then just man up and try to clean but the smell the dirtiness of the truck. When I finally got done I went to start it up. Dead yep the Batteries were dead. I went in to ask for help and got laughed at by the mechanic on duty and said make an appointment for next week so I did as I was told. And yes another week without pay. when the truck "did get" "fixed" My daughter could have done better with legos then what they did. But was told to drive it the gear shift was broke no knob and the transmission mount broke low oil no coolant wiper blade broke batts still dead cracked windshield no light covers . I had to beg yes thats right beg for a new mattress.

So now I'm on the move trying to make money 1st stop 100 miles away. I sit untill Monday three days no pay 2nd stop 150 miles away sit for 3 more days no pay 3 rd stop 1138 miles away great now we are talkin sit for 4 days no pay 5th stop 38 miles away a walmart load which I had to pay to get them to unload their on product? and no USA does not reimburse you for that, it's known as a lumper. 6 th run 337 miles away sit for 6 days because my dispatch forgot to set up the appointment no pay again. then on my way thru Indiana I got stopped at a way scale a DOT told me to get the airlines fixed if not they can give me a ticket thank god they were nice if not that would be a $600 ticket to me not USA. Even though I told them when I got the truck it needed fixed.

So I called dispatch waited for 2.5 hours for him to answer by the way no pay yet. so I'm directed to go to Vandalia,OH to get the truck fixed. I get there and guess what... your right no appointment was set up again. I then called night dispatch who told me to run the truck against DOT "ADVICE" When I asked if he was going to pay the ticket he said " I certainly will not" I then told him I would not either. He then told me to wait a week to get it fixed I final had to come to my senses and quit Which now I'm told I have to pay back which I will fight in court until I die Do not go to USA Truck they cheat lie and steal to get you to drive for them

First off I can barely belive anything you said. Lets start off with the lumper with wal-mart. They do pay the lumpers for load and unloading. If you payed attetion to what you were told in oreintation you would know that when you scan in your paperwork you scan in the recipt for the lumper. If you do not they deduct it from your pay. Do you know how many people tell them they need com checks for lumpers and the driver knows well thats not what the money is for. He knows he is using it for what ever he wants. Second off if the truck was wrecked that bad that a driver died in it the truck is required to go thru a DOT inspection before it is allowed back on the road and they will not let it go out the shop with cracked windshields and no wipers and what ever else. Don't get me wrong there is things that are screwed up there but they are not that crazy. And as far as the air line goes if you are giving a ticket on a company piece of equipment for anything other than driver stuff they pay for it. I think it would have been better for you to inform yourself and ask questions before you make all these false statements.

You have to turn in your receipts to get reimbursed

I've been with USA a year and 3 months. I get over 10,000 miles a month, nothing less. In order to be reimbursed on your lumper charges, you have to submit the receipts when you transflow your paperwork back to the company. Also, if you had that many problems with your truck, you should have marked on your vehicle inspection report in your log book "that the vehicle had defects which would likely effect the safe operation of vehicle" effectively putting yourself out of service. As such, the company would be in violation of FMCSA and DOT laws by forcing you to drive an unsafe vehicle. Also, if the truck was in such bad shape when you went to pick it up, you should have talked with your FM and got the issue resolved. As you noticed, maintenance personel are hard to deal with at the company. I'm sorry that you had a poor experience with USA Truck, but I've had a great experience.
