Complaint Review: USA VOICEMAIL

usa voicemail billed me $20.55 through the phone company (SBC)that i did not sign up for. SBC put the charges on my phone bll and expected me to pay it. the billing was from sbc and not usa, however the attachment had all the info for usa voicemail with a phone number to call.

I got in touch with sbc and they took the charges off of my bill. I then called the number for usa (1-800-295-3933) and a recording told me i was number 102 in line. 15 minuites later the operator told me I would have to call usa direct,(so why the heck do they have this number then) I called usa (1-877-439-3802) and after another 15 minuite wait, the lady that answered was polite and agreed to discontinue the service (that i did not sign up for). after i asked her why this happened, she said someone signed up for the service.

the phone number that they had was a line that i had for my 81 yrs old mother who only knows how to push one speed dail number (mine). then she gave me the e-mail address that was used to sign up with (my hot mail address). my mother's phone number is in no way connected to a computer. usa agreed also to refund $20.55 to me, (i have not paid it) This leads me to believe that sbc paid them and then tried to bill me for the charges. SBC and USAVOICEMAIL are scamming people out of money. watch out and look at your phone bill close.
