USAA Auto Insurance Dishonest, threatening, fraudulent collection practicies San Antonio Texas
After reading some of the other reports here, I thank goodness I do not employ (or attempt to, as it were) this companies services!
As it happens, another resident in the apartments where we live does, and is attempting to charge us for some body damage someone's else's kids did to her car.
So we received a letter yesterday from USAA, stating that they've reimbursed her for damages that were never proven to be from us, and are demanding that we repay USAA for what they claim to have paid to her. This letter arrived less than three days after the cop showed up at our home to gather info for his report, so naturally there certainly have been no court judgements. But we now have a letter from USAA stating that we owe them for what they claim to have paid her.
Not only is there no total on the bill, (it says "To Be Determined") there are also threats of everything from collection departments to wage garnishments, should we not give them our banking information for a bill with no total and no court judgements to pay. (our insurance has also received no notification from them...we contacted them from our side of things, but they haven't received reply from USAA)
Of course, we promptly forwarded the letter to our lawyer who all but fell off of his chair laughing at the company and it's being handled. But I figure hey, why not let a few others in on this, it's another black mark on them and people should be warned if a company they're considering doing business with is routinely conducting fraudulent business practices!
