VETERANS beware of USAA homeowners insurance. They claim to help verterans, but they only help themselves.

I had hail damage to my roof that was discovered by an inspection.  I got two certified contractor roofing companies to give me estimates. One was $5100. and the other was $4708.  I turned in the claim to USAA insurance and they sent over an adjuster to look at the damage. His report said that the damage was less than the deductible of $1570. and would not be covered.

After talking to USAA they decided to send another adjuster who said the same thing.  They even went as far to send an engineer to look at my roof. His report said there was damage, but USAA inturpeted that as being under the deductible also. These adjusters and engineer were selected and paid by USAA. I had no say in it at all.

I ended up paying for this roof out of my own pocket. As a disabled veteran, I am frustrated and outraged that they could be so crooked. Veterans beware.
