I'm really disappointed with USAA. After more than 20 years with never a claim, I was rear-ended while stopped in traffic by a car traveling at 50 MPH. My car was totaled and I ended up with whiplash and surgery. I was stiffed for $3K to $4K on the value of the car. USAA told me that my car insurance medical covered me up to $100K. After the operation USAA only paid $5K and explained that they had made a mistake. I have filed suit against the driver at fault and USAA will do nothing to help me recover my extraordinary losses. This accident and the financial hardship that resulted turned my life upside down.   I have an attorney but he is not licensed to practice in the jurisdiction where the accident occurred. I live 600 miles away.  USAA won't even contact one of their regular defense attorneys in the jurisdiction to sponsor my attorney; a courtesy that would cost USAA nothing- just a form letter. I'm afraid that USAA has joined a nation wide auto insurance fraud that started in the 90's. The only thing worse than USAA is Geico who alleges that my injuries were not caused by the accident.
