My wife and I hired USAKITCHEN.COM (located at 930 W. 22nd Street, Hialeah, FL 33010 and owned and operated by EDGAR O. RODRIGUEZ) in January 2014 for kitchen remodel upon the recommendation of friends who used USAKITCHEN several years ago. However, our friends advised that they had a subsequent bad experience with EDGAR RODRIGUEZ AND USAKITCHEN last spring right after our bad experience which is outlined below.

When EDGAR RODRIGUEZ of USA Kitchen initially came to our home, he drew up a design of our kitchen on the computer for us, and it was agreed that the construction would commence on March 10, 2014; however, the construction did not actually begin until March 19, 2014. Furthermore, the design changed and we were subsequently told that because of "angles" and the window not being centered in our kitchen. Certainly, Edgar should have been aware of those "angles" and the off center window when he first prepared the design. Edgar refused to give us any type of reund even though less materials and labor were used.

Unfortunately, those were not the only problems. All new cabinets contained blemishes and uneven paint cover. Edgar sent a painter to our house; however the problem could not be corrected. Edgar said he would have to start from scratch and replace all of the cabinets. While the painter was there trying to fix the new cabinets, he sprayed an espresso-colored mineral oil on all the cabinets, and got splatters of this mineral oil on my newly-installed backsplash, which could not be removed. It wasn't until April 18 that the second set of new cabinets were finally installed, but some of these newer cabinets were also damaged, and a painter had to come out and correct them. He also had to mix up a special color paint to touch up the backsplash where the mineral oil had stained the tiles.

A few months post-construction, our dishwasher started falling out from under the countertop when we opened it. We reached out to Edgar but never received a return call. We then noticed after a month or so after the dishwasher problem that an entire portion of the upper cabinets, approximately six feet in length, had come loose! We had our handyman check them on January 22, 2015 whie he was at our home installing a garage door opener. When our handyman saw how loose the cabinets were, he said it was extremely dangerous as they could fall at anytime and kill someone, and we needed to contact the contractor who installed them and request that they be fixed immediately. We immediately contacted Edgar at approximately 11:00 a.m. Of course, Edgar didn't answer his phone so we left a voice mail message and texted him.

We advised him that the cabinets were loose and the dishwasher was falling out from under the countertop. Edgard promised that he would send one of his installers to our house that afternoon. We waited around for the entire day for some to arrive, and no one showed up. We spoke with Edgar and texted back and forth and were promised that "Larry" would be at our home in the afternoon, then he would be there at 5 p.m., and then he would be there by 8 or 9 p.m. After we waited the entire day and evening for "Larry", he never showed up. We were unable to take the next day off from work since my wife had a mandatory meeting and I am a professional entertainer so we asked Edgar that someone be sent to the house that eveing or Saturday morning. Edgar then promised that someone would be out on Saturday to fix the cabinets and dishwasher.

"Larry" and his installers finally showed up on Saturday morning. When I asked "Larry" why he never came to our house on Thursday, he said he knew nothing about it. Larry was able to fix the cabinets by screwing them into the stud in the wall but said he did not have the materials to secure the dishwasher ot the countertop. Edgar said he would arrange for someone to come out to secure the dishwasher. After not hearing from Edgar, on February 2, 2015, we texted Edgar and reminded him about the dishwasher, and he said that he was waiting for his handyman who woulld take care of it that week. On February 11, 2015, we texted Edgar again regarding the dishwasher problem, and this time we never received a reply. It is now more than two months later, and the dishwasher problem has not been corrected. We also contacted the initial installer whom Edgar used who goes by the name of MILTON MEJIA or HANDYMAN FULL SERVICE, LLC, left messages in his voice mail, and never received return calls.

We did a search recently and were not able to find that MILTON MEJIA or HANDYMAN FULL SERVICE, LLC even has a license to do construction. If that is correct, then USA Kitchens is sucontracting out to unlicensed contractors. This entire summary of facts can be corroborated by phone call records and texts exchanged between EDGAR RODRIGUEZ and my wife and me. You would think that EDGAR RODRIGUEZ would have a conscience and feel bad for jeopardizing our family's safety with the improperly installed cabinets and just send someone out to properlyl secure the dishwasher under the countertop. It is our recommendation that no one ever use USA KITCHENS and that EDGAR RODRIGUEZ' license be revoked for putting our family's lives in jeopardy.
