USBank US Bank Charged overdraft fees 8 times when money was in my account! Fairfield Ohio
We deposited $200.00 CASH into our bank account . Not telling us they held $100.00 of that then charged us Overdraft fees 7 times in one day. Even though money was in the bank and we didn't have a negative balance until the 6th charge. My paycheck was then deposited and the next day they charged yet another overdraft fee again when my account had a positive balance. We called them and they basically said that they could do this because they held the $100.00 which caused some of our transactions to go past our limit.

with any business its important to read what fees a company chargse. Us Bank does not charge more than 6 overdraft fees per day. As well if you deposit cash at an atm they only make 100 dollars available the first business day and full amount the next business day.
You may have made a cash deposit after the business cut off time. Only allowing them to post 100 dollars immediately. I would contact a teller and verify if they made a mistake with the deposit if you made it via teller. But always check your deposit receipt and it will show you what time it will post.

Assuming that you actually deposited cash, and not a part of a cashed check, all you need to do is point out to them that it is illegal to hold cash deposits under the federal funds availability laws. It sounds like a teller treated your deposit like a check deposit, and the hold happens automatically. Most likely just human error.
