I am reporting on behalf of my office manager, Carole M. From looking at other ripoff.com reports, it is apparent that USBI is getting away with a widespread scam. It a strange way it is comforting to see others concerned reporting this problem.

Carole received a bill from SBC with an attached bill from USBI for $196.46 for 5 phone calls (billed on behalf of Telliss) to Sweden (0485631313). These phone calls were never made by anyone or from the computer attached to the specified phone line. We have checked out every log and file on the computer and found nothing relating to the times shown on the bill. Not only that, the times shown for the 5 calls are all times when no one was home or in the wee hours of the A.M.

Together Carole and I have spend over 5 hours making calls to Telliss, USBI, FCC, and anyone who will listen and still have no resolution to the problem. Just like the other reports on this site I have read, USBI or Telliss (or whoever these sleezeballs are), they explain that the chatges are for clicking OK to a disclosure to visit a premium web site.

When asked for proof, they basically say to look at your computer history and that you are on your own. There is no computer history associated with this; two computer techs have checked this out.

We have filed reports with the FCC and FTC and plan to contact local Congressmen. If anyone has any comments how to proceed and "nail" these low lifes, we are open for suggestions.
