Started Easy enough

I took their free trial to access Usenet, the software provided was clunky but usable, I paid for 12 months in advance when the free period was over.

Not very Good

After a few months the content wasn't updated regularly enough and the sofware was starting to creak, I stopped using the service, even though I had paid for the year.

Then it starts

At the end of the year I had an email demanding another year's fee. I pointed out that I hadn't accessed the account in over seven months and did not want a second year.

Over the top

I was contatced by a German Debt collector stating that I was in breach of contract for not paying for the second year as I had not served a cancellation notice. I pointed out that consumer contracts require clear and fair terms.

A standard term is unfair 'if, contrary to the requirement of good faith, it causes a significant imbalance in the parties' rights and obligations arising under the contract, to the detriment of the consumer. Unfair terms are not enforceable against the consumer. You can’t hide an unfair term of the contract, in the small print.

Ignorance

The debt collector continues to ignore my emails/letters and continues to send letters/emails demanding payment. A weaker person would just pay up. I absolutely do not intend to buckle to these bullies.

Conclusion

If I were you, do not put your faith in USENEXT, they are just looking for their next victim
